Two Ways to Celebrate Communion
This Sunday Pastor Diane and Pastor Darren will serve communion at the 8:30 a.m. service. We will have a process in place to ensure your safety. This will be the only time we offer communion in a worship service this summer. Pending developments with the pandemic we will also celebrate the Lord’s Supper in a worship service sometime in late fall.
Pastor Darren will continue to bring communion to your home on the first Mondays of the month by request.
To schedule him to bring communion to your home on Monday, Aug. 3, please email

Each month Pastor Diane is creating four or five devotions using a particular scripture passage, with a short discussion of that passage, questions for the reader to ponder, and a closing prayer. To receive these devotions by U.S. mail or email please email

Creating a Personal Sacred Space in Your Home
We all miss the sacred space we find at North, particularly in the sanctuary, chapel and courtyard. Here are eight ways to create a sacred space in your home that could be helpful:
- Find a space — maybe a guest room, attic, or corner in your living area.
- Hang a screen, beads, or billowy curtain to emphasize a space for solitude.
- Place a comfortable chair there, and/or some pillows on the floor.
- Gather spiritual objects that speak to your faith such as a cross or a Bible.
- Create an altar — place candles, incense or other special objects, and include your spiritual objects there as well.
- Add plants and flowers for energy, color and to increase oxygen.
- Hang pictures of gardens, mountains, spiritual teachers, angels, or mentors that impart a feeling of peace and harmony.
- Including soft music, an insightful book, or poetry can offer inspiration.
