"Changing" St. John's

Bring Your Change
Anytime!!!

Presented at the Altar
The Second Sunday
of the Month
Total to Date: $282.72

Changing St. John's

Save your coins when you empty your pockets at night. Collect them in a can or "mite" box and bring them to St. John's. Bring them anytime, and we'll present these "mites" on the first Sunday of the month. Many small efforts could make a big change in our budget and ministry. (We have can wrappers in the narthex to help us remember.)

Shopping Cards
An Easy Way to Help

Stop & Shop Cards
In Stock!
Available Every Sunday

When you buy shopping/gift cards through St. John's, you are making a contribution that does not cost you financially. It may take a little planning.  Order forms are available in the narthex and can be placed in the lockbox at any time.

To make it easy, here's the form for ordering. Print it and bring it on Sunday.

And if you want more choices, here's a complete list. Sue Bremer could order anything on this list.

Dear St. John's Community,

Now that summer is upon us and activities galore vie for our attention, please keep the community of St. John's in mind. Here are a few reminders for the summer months:

SUMMER PARISH PROJECT - Where Do You Find God? As you travel and enjoy the summer, please stop and capture a picture of where you have seen God at work in the world. Perhaps a garden, the shore, with family and friends, or at a summer chapel? Send your pictures to Michelle at [email protected] and we will share them in the glass walkway for all to enjoy!

SUMMER GARDEN TOUR - St. John's Gill Memorial Garden will be part of the Garden Tour in support of the Bakersville Library on July 15th. Plants gleaned from the Memorial Garden will be offered for sale.

SUMMER REGION CONVOCATION - The Northwest Region Convocation will take place on Saturday, July 22, 11-3pm at White Memorial Conservation Center, 80 Whitehall Road, Litchfield, CT. Adult and Children's Programs are planned. Please join us.

SUMMER COFFEE HOURS - If you are hosting coffee hour this summer, please know that you have the option of hosting this post service reception in the garden. The tables are set in the walkway and lemonade dispensers are located in the kitchen. Thanks for your hospitality and your tasty treats.

SUMMER VISITORS - Summer is prime visiting time for those seeking out a new church home. Please be cognizant of those around you in need of assistance and a warm welcome. Thanks.

SUMMER NURSERY - Thanks to Molly Lukiwsky, Mary Healey, and Linda Snyder, the nursery will be available for the 9am service during the summer.

SUMMER GARDEN LAYWEEDERS - Thank you to our Garden Managers, Norma Pappalardo and Anne Hall, and all those who lovingly care for our garden.

SUMMER BAPTISMS - Please contact Mother Cosman if you would like to discuss baptism for yourself or a member of your family.

SUMMER PLEDGING - If you find that you are not able to attend during the summer months, please consider keeping up your pledge by mailing it in. Mail it to St. John's Church 51 Church Street, P.O. Box 27, Pine Meadow, CT 06061 Attn: Treasurer. Thank you so much in advance for your ongoing support of St. John's.

SUMMER BIRTHDAY & ANNIVERSARY CARDS - Please stop by the Garden walkway and sign the July Birthday and Anniversary cards.

SUMMER MISSION PROJECT - Covenant to Care for Children Back to School Backpacks - Our parish social worker, Michelle Chase, has asked us to help provide backpacks and school supplies for children. Your generosity is appreciated. Please place your donations in the container in the narthex. See Lucie Martocchio, our Parish Liaison for any further information. Thanks.

May you travel with God this summer in whatever you do and wherever you go. May you pray this summer and every day and in every situation. May you be aware of God's action in your life and God's love for you and all those you know and love.

SUMMER  AT SAINT JOHN'S

Saturday, July 22nd
  • Save The Date - Northwest Region Convocation 2017 - Saturday, July 22, 11-3pm at White Memorial Conservation Center, 80 Whitehall Road, Litchfield, CT. Adult and Children's Programs.

In The Garden

In The Garden
- We have removed much of the Ladies Mantle that became over-grown along the walkway to the new building. Replacing the bulbs which provided an annual buffet for the chipmunks, we have put in miniature blue, white, and yellow iris which provide early spring color, require little maintenance, and should naturalize easily.
