Be Connected
Our 2018 GLD Conference is coming this fall! Jill and Stuart Briscoe are the main speakers on Oct. 8-9, Monday and Tuesday at our Maywood EFC in Rockford, IL. From her book,
Renewal on the Run - Encouragement for Wives, Who Are Partners in Ministry, Jill Briscoe will lead our pastors' wives in a two-part Monday afternoon session on our particular needs, questions, struggles, and triumphs. Jill will also speak at our Women's Dinner on Monday from her book,
Here I Am Lord... Send Someone Else: How God Uses Ordinary People To Do Extraordinary Things. This will be a great time to connect with each other. We'll be praying that each of you can carve out the time to attend this year. Here is the

registration that you need to fill out individually to attend the conference, Pastors' Wives seminar, and Women's Dinner.
Be Encouraged
Our prayer theme for July and August is focused on the fruit of the Loving Deeds of our Proverbs 31 Rooted Woman of Valor's Life Realm of Her World. (pg.28-33 in our book)
Here are the previous prayer links for your reference.
Fruit of Loving Deeds
Proverbs 31:20-24 provides a picture of our rooted woman of valor in her world and her actions and attitudes of loving deeds toward others, her family, and husband.
- Specific Prayer Focus- Our Proverbs 31 mentor provides wise Actions and Attitudes to pray for each other as we seek God's direction and strength to offer LOVING DEEDS to our world and family. As Frederick Buechner put it in his book, Wishful Thinking, A Seeker's ABCs, "The place God calls you to is the place where your deep gladness and the world's deep hunger meet."
1.
Action-Provides for poor and needy
Attitude-Philanthropic giving
She opens her hand to the poor and reaches out her hands to the needy. (31:20)
Prayer-.that we will have the Lord's eyes and compassion toward the poor and needy in our world who He wants us to offer Loving Deeds as we openly reach out with our hands.
2.
Action-Provides future for herself and family
Attitude-Peaceful, not fearful
She is not afraid of snow for her household, for all her household are clothed in scarlet.
She makes bed coverings for herself; her clothing is fine linen and purple. (31:21,22)
Prayer- As we seek to take time to help those outside our home, let's pray that we will continue to prioritize and accomplish our families' needs, so we provide an atmosphere of Loving Deeds with the fruit of peace and not fear or chaos in our homes.
3.
Action-Provides respect for her husband
Attitude-Praise for husband
Her husband is known in the gates when he sits among the elders of the land. (31:23)
Prayer-that our Loving Deeds in our world and home provide a reflection of respect for our husbands. Pray the wisdom of Proverbs 14:1, "The wisest of women builds her house, but folly with her own hands tears it down."
4.
Action-Provides resources for family and world
Attitude-Proactively combines skill with the needs of the world
She makes linen garments and sells them; she delivers sashes to the merchant. (31:24)
Prayer-that we use the gifts God has given us as loving deeds to serve others, as well as provide profitable enterprise for ourselves and family.
Action point
- Keep a journal of specific ways the Lord speaks to you as you pray and live out these Scriptures.
Let us pray:
"And let our people learn to devote themselves to good works(loving deeds), so as to help cases of urgent need, and not be unfruitful." Titus 3:14(ESV)
