Professional and Career Development
Peacebuilding and Conflict Resolution
Dear Colleague:

As the summer winds down and we start to focus again on the school year, planning will be the order of the day. For faculty and professionals, there will be consideration of conferences and training worth participating in. Staying abreast of the newest developments and learning best practices are what ensure our competency and effectiveness. For students and professionals, there might be the need to explore a new career path. As such, learning about the most effective ways to finding work and approaches to dealing with the uncertainty of change are important. Hopefully, this newsletter will be helpful in considering these various issues.

The photo is of my son facilitating a training for Peace Corps volunteers in Namibia earlier this summer. The training focused on diversity. The setting seems an improvement over a classroom of chairs and desks!

I'm now in the midst planning my fall travel (and my own professional development schedule). If you are interested in a visit where I could talk about careers, peacebuilding, or humanitarian work, let me know!

But summer is not over yet! Enjoy it.
