Emerging Findings in Alzheimer's and Brain Health at AAIC | | | | | The Alzheimer’s Association International Conference is the largest international meeting on dementia science and clinical practice, and it's happening now. Some takeaways so far include exciting new results on the US Pointer Study lifestyle interventions, new guidelines around blood tests, and the insights gained after two years of treating patients with amyloid-clearing drugs in private and academic neurology clinics. | | A Website for Young Adults with Loved Ones Affected by Alzheimer's | | | When Makena Crosser's grandfather was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, she discovered that there weren’t a lot of supportive resources dedicated to youth with loved ones affected by the disease. Now, Makena, who is a student at Bainbridge High School ('26), has created a website, Navigating Alzheimer's: A Resource for Youth. She gained perspective from a UW ADRC expert for this project. | |
Join us on Wednesday, August 6, for a screening of the documentary film The Rest I Make Up by filmmaker Michelle Merman. The film explores the later years of Cuban-American playwright, producer, and actress Maria Irene Fornés, who maintained a vibrant creative life during her journey with dementia.
The MBWC and Memory Hub are community partners for the event, and the Frye Art Museum is helping lead a discussion.

Caregivers will have a book discussion group led by Seattle Public Library. People with memory loss will have a music engagement program led by a certified music therapist. The last half hour we'll come together for social time and snacks!
