Bus Rapid Transit Action Plan Adopted!

The Authority formally adopted NVTA's Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Action Plan. Building on more than $880 million in BRT investments to date, the Action Plan offers a clear framework for jurisdictions and agencies to incrementally develop BRT routes, while also outlining how these routes can function as an integrated system once fully implemented.

Collaboration Across the Region

NVTA is proud to support our partners in improving Northern Virginia's transportation network. Together, we advocate for the transportation needs of Northern Virginia, working to secure the resources necessary for vital projects that enhance the region.

NVTA continues to take steps toward bringing projects to reality, signing Standard Project Agreements (SPA) with project sponsors to move progress forward. Below are four projects that received SPA approval by the Authority.

• Town of Vienna's Vienna-Carter Library Parking Garage (formerly Mill Street NE Parking Garage)
• Prince William County's Route 234 Project at Sudley Manor Interchange
• City of Alexandria's West End Transitway Phase 1b: South Van Dorn Street and Bridge Design
• Fairfax County's Purchase of Eight New Buses for Fairfax Connector's Tysons to Franconia Service
