Authors of July's featured titles suggest book-inspired fare including Sangria recipes with superpowers, "pain and pleasure" cookies, hot takes from a Kentucky college town and the Wisconsin Playboy Club resort, a British one-pot supper, Royal Family cocktails, a global taste tour of New York City, and family-favorite pizza toppings.
And authors Pamela Terry and Sarah Blake generously respond to our requests from book clubs by offering food pairings for their novels.
Enjoy summer book club gatherings, reading, and cooking!

"Ideas for food to serve at our book club meeting for The Guest Book by Sarah Blake? Loved the book—one of my top three books of all time!" -Alyce
|
From author Sarah Blake:
"In the spirit of the pivotal party 'on the rocks' that centers the book, I'd make sure you had good gin and cold wine! The boiled corn and lobster may be too much to swing, but the classic 50s WASP h'ors d'oeuvres of Ritz crackers, melted cheddar cheese and chutney might do, accompanied by bowls of Pepperidge Farm goldfish. And how about cucumber sandwiches on white bread with mayonnaise? Min makes these for herself and Evie, and the food holds the whole of the rage and joy and sorrow of the Island in it."

"I just finished The Sweet Taste of Muscadines and now need a theme menu for book club. Any ideas?" -Sue
From author Pamela Terry:
"I can't think of anything better to serve with The Sweet Taste of Muscadines than Southern biscuits and jelly. If you can locate some Muscadine jelly, even better! You might want to make a nod to the South and serve iced tea or tip your hat to the Scottish part of the book and serve it hot. Either way, I wish I could be at that book club!"
