On June 19 we had the privilege to host a handful of brave and adventurous women for our Babes on the Bay event! This was a ladies-only crash course / intro to sailing. During the short lecture, we discussed parts of a boat, terminology, points of sail, wind direction and basic sailing theory. Mother Nature graciously held off the storms and we got to spend a little bit of time on the water where everyone took a turn at the tiller. While the afternoon threatened with gloomy skies, we continued with knots, and eventually with a capsize recovery drill on a Sunfish.
Awesome job to all of our participants, and as always huge thank you to all volunteers who helped in any way. We couldn't be teaching without you!

Steak Fry 2021
Another great night at PCC!
|
|
The annual club steak fry, which kicks off the social season, was once again a successful event. Almost 90 people were in attendance. Weather was a little cool and those who raced had some great winds.
Kudos to Tom and Melinda Ristvey and Pam and Tom Ambrass for their time and effort in planning the event. An event like this is no easy task. As usual, the 8oz fillets were tender and juicy and sure tantalized the taste buds plus the sides that were available hit the spot. The hors d'oeuvre table could not have been better. Thanks to all who brought them. Thanks also to those who brought the desserts. A grand assortment to top off the evening.

A HUGE THANK YOU!
Big thanks to Gordon Fraser and Brian and Michelle Bish for all of the work they've done to improve things around the club! Gordon, who painted the clubhouse deck, and Brian and Michelle who have been fixing up the landscaping around the clubhouse, all took on these projects without being asked and have not only dedicated a lot of time, but money as well.
Thanks to Gene Soriano as well for his continuing efforts to ward off the geese around the club grounds and docks! Not only is Gene keeping the geese away, but he's also making the club more "flashy"!
Thank you to anyone else that may have done something to make the club a better place, whether planting something, cleaning something, or donating money for various projects. All are greatly appreciated!

With activity at the club picking back up it's a good time to review the Rules and Regulations. Remember that these apply not only to members but guests as well.
We've had some raccoon issues lately as well so please ensure that if you are the last one out of the clubhouse that you close all of the doors for the night.
SPEED LIMIT = 5 mph.
