Giving back to animal conservation organizations is an important part of what we do at the Zoo. There are two conservation organizations at the zoo: Potawatomi Zoo AAZK (our chapter of the American Association of Zoo Keepers) and On A Mission to Save Species. This month, these two groups are working together to raise money for conservation of rhinos and southern ground hornbills.

On Friday, July 12, we'll be Bowling for Rhinos at Strikes at Spares in Mishawaka. Bowling for Rhinos is a national effort by zoo keepers and the public to support rhino conservation organizations around the world. Although we don't have a firm date for our rhino to arrive at the Zoo this year, we're thrilled to be a part of conserving rhinos in the wild.

We'll be participating in Quiz For a Cause, a Trivia Takeover with Geeks Who Drink at South Bend Brew Werks on July 23 to raise money for southern ground hornbill research. And if you can't make it to trivia at Brew Werks, stop in any time for the Lone Radler, the beer of the month, which benefits the Zoo.
