Borderline Personality Disorder

Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) is a complex mental health disorder that is often met with misunderstanding and stigma in a variety of clinical settings. Consequently, individuals with BPD can be unfairly viewed as difficult or challenging. In this training on BPD, we will review proposed etiology, symptom presentation, diagnostic criteria and evidence-based treatment approaches in an effort to foster understanding and empathy, and ultimately improve care.

Person-Centered Approaches & Recovery Orientation

Trauma-Informed Care

Self-Care

Self-Disclosure
Tuesday, July 26 (2-3pm)

In this training, relevant for Peers and other mental health professionals alike, we will explore self-disclosure. Appropriate self-disclosure can be an important tool in aiding clients to recover from mental health challenges. This training will discuss how and when to disclosure can be most useful to the client. Contrary to traditional beliefs in the mental health field, even non-Peers can disclose in effective ways that really provide hope to clients, without straining the therapeutic relationship. This training is recommended for all types of behavioral health service providers.
