Low-Cost Funding for Your Small Business
Get the funds you need to keep your small business moving forward with the Small Biz Loan.
Small businesses often run into obstacles when seeking funds to invest in growing their businesses. To help expand funding options available to Washington County small business owners, EDWC has carved out a portion of Washington County’s Impact Loan Fund to create the Small Biz Loan program.
EDWC provides low-cost financing primarily to existing companies growing or relocating their businesses in Washington County. Our funds are readily available in amounts $100,000 – $1,000,000.
- Funds often count as equity when making a purchase
- Terms and amortizations of up to 25 years
- Fixed rates for extended periods
- No pre-payment penalties in most cases
- Reasonable fees
- Flexible, creative and/or subordinate collateral options
- Local decision making
WashCo Small Biz Loan at a Glance
Loan Amount: $25,000
Fixed Interest Rate: 5.50%
Term: 5 years
Amortization: Interest only payments only for 6 months followed by payments of principal and interest thereafter for the remaining 54 months of the note.

Logging On: Artificial Intelligence Tool Now Accessible to All at MATC
College first in state to make AI available to every student, faculty and staff member
Milwaukee Area Technical College is on the sharpest cutting edge of artificial intelligence technology. MATC is the first college in Wisconsin, and one of the few in the Midwest, to make AI accessible to all students, faculty and staff.
Simply by logging on to their MATC Google account, everyone at the college can access Google’s Gemini app and NotebookLM, two key AI tools. Critically important, both are FERPA compliant,said Donald Kasprzak, the college’s director of information security.
“I truly believe this initiative will position our college in a way that will surprise our community partners, our stakeholders and our students,” Kasprzak said. “No other college in Wisconsin is currently deploying an AI service to every employee and student, regardless of their class enrollment.
