Farm to Table 2025 Raises Over $180,000 for Local Conservation Efforts

Guests enjoyed live bluegrass music, local beverages, and a farm-fresh meal while raising vital funds for our mission.

On a perfect summer evening beneath a blue June sky, guests gathered at the picturesque Russell-Mandel Preserve to celebrate and support Heritage Conservancy’s mission. Our annual Farm to Table fundraiser offered not just a beautiful view, but an opportunity to experience the impact of preservation that their generosity makes possible.

Thanks to our supporters, this year’s event raised over $180,000! These essential funds help to ensure our ongoing efforts in land conservation, historic preservation, environmental education, and community engagement across Bucks, Montgomery, and Northampton counties.

Newly Preserved: 90 Acres of Woodland and Family Farm in Hilltown Township, Bucks County

The easements came together in April and June, but the full process took about two years.

Over the course of spring and two transactions, Heritage Conservancy partnered with Bucks County to preserve a 90-acre rural property in Hilltown Township. A large portion of the funding came through the Bucks County Agricultural Land Preservation Program.

“By securing agricultural conservation easements on the Weikel tracts...we’ve added more than 90 acres of protected farmland to a contiguous expanse of preserved land in Hilltown Township that exceeds 525 acres," says John Ives, Director of Agricultural Land Preservation & Open Space Programs, Bucks County Planning Commission.

New to Heritage Conservancy’s Register of Historic Places: County Line Road School House

The property is home to the Warrington Historical Society and has ties to William Penn and Ulysses S. Grant.

The project to restore the County Line Road School House over the last 20 years represents a labor of love by community members who believe in the value of preserving history now and for future generations. This recent addition to Heritage Conservancy’s Register of Historic Places is noteworthy for more than its two centuries of educational heritage.

“I think it’s important to realize that this is how we grew up as a county and as a country,” says Ken Samen, Vice President of the Warrington Historical Society.

Save the Monarchs With Milkweed and Other Native Plants

Monarchs rely on Milkweed for reproduction as well as food, making it vital to their survival.

The monarch butterfly population has decreased by 90% in the past 20 years! Like other pollinators, monarchs rely on diverse plant communities in their native habitat. For future generations to survive, monarchs require species of milkweed to act as their larval host plant. That is why native plant gardens are more crucial than ever.

New Pollinator Meadow Planted at Lindsay Farm

Heritage Conservancy's summer conservation interns helped seed the field, by seed drill and by hand.

In one of this summer’s most ambitious and rewarding projects, Heritage Conservancy's stewardship staff and summer interns transformed a 15-acre former cornfield at our Lindsay Farm Preserve in Warwick into a pollinator meadow, our largest and most diverse seeding to date.

To convert this particular field, the team used a tractor with a no-till seed drill attachment, a specialized piece of equipment that creates shallow furrows in the soil, places the seed at the ideal depth, and presses it in, all without disturbing soil structure. Some areas required hand seeding as well.

Why We Support Heritage Conservancy

“My parents broke ground on the farm the year they were married, 1984. Farm to table was a new concept at that time, but my parents had a vision... Their stubbornness, love for the land, and genuine pleasure in feeding people healthy, delicious fruits and vegetables has grown the business to where it is today.

None of this would have been possible without the support of the Heritage Conservancy. When you invest in the Heritage Conservancy, you aren’t just helping farmers. You are also helping protect open space and the natural resources that make this area special. Together, we can ensure the next generation inherits the beauty and vibrant history we enjoy today.”
