24 Teens Saved at Camp YU
Hispanic teens from two churches, El Buen Pastor in Beaverton, OR and Iglesia Vida in Renton, WA gathered at Warm Beach Camp in Stanwood, WA for a weekend camp on June 23-24 with 75 participating.
Many of our partners were praying for this weekend, and God was at work drawing students to Himself on the very first night of camp. In my message, I explained from John 8:1-11 that, just like the woman caught in adultery, everyone needs to be rescued from sin and death, that Jesus came to rescue sinners, and that those whom Jesus recues are truly free to leave their life of sin,
21 teens made a public decision to trust Jesus as Savior and Lord!!!
It was awesome. Youth pastors, leaders, and chaperones from both churches rejoiced to see God's saving grace in the lives of their students.
The following morning in the second session of camp, I preached about how the encounter with the risen Jesus transformed a first century genocidal murderer, Saul of Tarsus, into a missionary for Jesus.
Three more students publicly professed their faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord
. Praising God for each student that was saved!
After the closing session at camp Sunday morning, we drove to Iglesia Vida in Renton, WA where I preached with Pastor Carlos Rodriquez, my friend and translator. It was a joy to worship with these brothers and sisters in Christ.
Would you please join us in prayer to thank God for saving these teens and to pray for these Hispanic churches as they conduct follow-up and discipleship with all those who made decisions?
