July 4 Family Adventure Run to Benefit Strong Kids

The YMCA of Lincoln invites families to kick-off their Fourth of July festivities at the 6th Annual YMCA Youth Sports Adventure Run. Held at YMCA Spirit Park, kids and adults alike will climb their way through obstacles, run through fields and make a giant splash in the mud pit. Wave start times will begin at 8:30am. Late registrations* are currently being accepted through the day of the event.

Fitness Friday +
Enjoy No Initiation Fee

Held at all Lincoln Y locations, FREE Fitness Friday is an open-to-the-community event where everyone can enjoy the many amenities that the Y has to offer including cardio and strength training options, Group Exercise classes, basketball, swimming (indoor pools) and much more. Additionally, the YMCA offers up to two hours per child in our Child Watch area ( Child Watch hours) while their parent/guardian is in the facility ( complete the required Child Watch Intake Form). Just bring a valid photo ID to check-in at the Front Desk. Minimum age is 19+, unless accompanied by an adult (19+).


Plus, YMCA Youth Sports will have booth locations set up at some of the Lincoln YMCA locations with registration information for upcoming sports, as well as selling jerseys. Booth times are listed below:

Tumbling Tykes: With help from their parents, participants practice basic tumbling skills and develop coordination.

Mighty Movers: Basic tumbling and gymnastics class for children with special needs who need assistance from a parent.

Live Y'ers: Participants practice basic tumbling skills, learn social skills and develop coordination.

Kindernastics: Participants practice basic gymnastics skills to prepare for Level I gymnastics.

Level I - Beginner: Basic gymnastics skills on all apparatus and basic tumbling.

Level II - Intermediate: Can do a correct backward roll, bridge up and have a good start on a cartwheel.

Level III - Advanced: Can do a back limber, round-off, handstand and has capabilities on the apparatus.
Creative Movement: Children learn basic dance fundamentals and build on those skills.

Dance Workshop (Ballet, Jazz & Hip Hop): Children learn basic dance fundamentals, choreography of dance and build on those skills.
Youth Gym/Yoga
Jumpin' Jrs. (ages 3-5): A physical activities program for ages 3 to 6 that incorporates running, jumping, hopping, etc. through games.

Youth Yoga - Little Lions (ages 3-5): Yoga poses inspire creativity, as well as provide a sense of calmness and relaxation as kids get together to have fun with movement and become mindful of themselves and the world around them.

Youth Yoga - Grasshoppers (ages 5-9): Fun-filled yoga sequences develop strength, coordination and body awareness while balancing poses and building self confidence.

Tween Yoga Workshop (ages 9-12): A non-competitive outlet for building connections between the mind and body.

Learn how to run a half marathon or how to achieve a better pace. This training has been created to help participa nts train for the upcoming Good Life Halfsy, but is open to anyone and all fitness levels. Run with fellow participants and receive a training schedule, hear from guest speakers and receives individual help.

Preschool - Begins in August!
A licensed program for ages 3-5, emphasizing the social, emotional, physical and cognitive development of a child.

Teen Time - Begins in August!
In this after-school enrichment program, participants benefit from a safe place to stay after school that includes a nutritious snack, academic support, personal development, recreational time and so much more.

Kids Night Out
Kids will have a fun-filled, supervised time at the Y, while their parents/guardians enjoy spending time outside the Y.

The Youth Triathlon route will start and end at the Fallbrook YMCA with the race route throughout the Fallbrook neighborhood. Proceeds to benefit the YMCA Annual Campaign-Strong Kids.

Coloring Contest
July 23-August 3, 2018
Stop by the Cooper Y Front Desk to pick up a designated coloring sheet. Color and design it; then submit your artwork to the Front Desk. At the end of the 2-week period, Y staff will put them on display by the gym and pick their favorites. Available to both Lincoln Y Members and Non-members.
Copple Family

FREE for Lincoln Y Members. Party will be held in the Outdoor Pool area and includes a visit from Santa, reindeer games and snowball fights. Plus, refreshments will be available for purchase from Kona Ice and ChefauChef.

July 25, 2018
Pre-register for $1/person and receive 5 game tickets. Additional game tickets at the door are 25¢/ticket. Pre-registration is encouraged. Dinner is also available for purchase during the event for $2/person (includes hotdog, chips & bottled water).

July 28, 2018
Open to all 5th-9th graders. Event is FREE and you do not need to be a Y member to attend.
