July 2018: What's New
A Birth to Three Early Intervention Graduation
Encompass therapists Lindsey Batz, Kavita Sleight, and Nicole Hale celebrate Ben's "graduation" from the Birth to Three Early Intervention program
Birth to Three Early Intervention is an intimate program. For months, or even years, Encompass Early Intervention team members come into a family's home for weekly visits, sharing their hopes, frustrations, and triumphs. The end of the program is a bittersweet time of transition.

One of our Early Intervention families celebrated son Ben's graduation from the program with a "going away party" for his therapy team: Speech-Language Pathologist Lindsey Batz, Occupational Therapist Kavita Sleight, and Physical Therapist Nicole Hale. In the picture above, the team and Ben wear shirts that read "Dinosaurs are scary--Down Syndrome is not."

Ben's mom, Lindsey, expressed her gratitude:

"Our team was not only gifted at helping Ben develop, but they were an incredible resource to me and my family. Much like their approach with Ben, they encouraged us when we needed encouraging, and pushed us when we needed to be pushed. We will forever be grateful for the solid foundation they helped to cultivate which we know Ben will spring forward from. We expect big things from Ben, and our team at Encompass were an invaluable part of laying the foundation."

Congratulations to Ben and his family for this milestone accomplishment!

Summer Camps in Full Swing
We're past the halfway point for summer camp with just three more full weeks of camp left. Our campers have had a blast playing in the sand, making capes and lab coats out of t-shirts, learning about interesting creatures, and making new friends.
Encompass Programming Kicks off in New Issaquah Space
We are pleased to announce that Our Savior Lutheran Church is now partnering with Encompass to provide us with space for expanded programming in the Issaquah area.

Our first class in the new location was a partnership with Northwest Center Kids and focused on families that have a child identified with a hearing loss or deafness. We had 7 moms along with their children and they loved it!

The group was such a hit that it will now have regular meetings on the 3rd Friday of every month from 9:30-11:30 am.

On August 2 and August 9, from 10:00-11:30 am, we will be having Open Houses for a new Issaquah Playgroup that will start up in the fall at this location. All families with children ages 0-3 are welcome to attend. Please view the flyer for more information.

Thank you to Our Savior Lutheran Church for your generous donation of this space!
