E-News - July 2020
Thank you for your faithfulness and your patience as we begin to restart our ministries at National Heights. What a blessing to have people with us in worship the past few Sundays! We understand that many of you are not ready to return to in-person worship and ministry just yet. We encourage you to continue to follow the best recommendations for keeping yourself and your family safe. We will continue to maintain our online ministries in the days to come. I encourage you, if you have not yet tried one of our online Sunday School classes, small groups, or Bible studies to give them a try. There are ways you can connect even if you do not have a computer or internet. Give us a call here at the church office (833-4111) and we will be glad to tell you how you can participate.

We are blessed each Sunday with wonderful music lifting our hearts to the Lord. I look forward each week to ways that God will bless us through our music ministry. For over thirty years, Becky Woodall has allowed God to use her tremendous gifts to focus our thoughts on the Savior. In this newsletter, you will find ways you can express your appreciation for her service to the Lord and to NHBC, as she has announced her plans to retire as our church pianist. Thank you, Becky, and God bless you! We look forward to ways God will continue to use you in the ministries of NHBC.

Thank you, National Heights, for your faithfulness in giving to the ministries of our church. It has been a blessing to see how you have gone the second mile to send in your tithes and offerings online and by mail. Your generosity is amazing!

Continue to pray as we move forward in following the best recommendations to reopen our ministries at NHBC. We are excited about ways God is going to work through our church in days ahead. I can’t wait to see what God is going to do through you!
Our church has had a treasure on the bench for 33 years--Becky Woodall. She has played for countless worship services, funerals, weddings, practices, fellowships, and so much more! We have all been blessed beyond measure by her talent! That’s why it saddens us all to know that she is retiring from her position as pianist at National Heights. Her playing has brought tears, laughter, joy, peace, calm, excitement, and so much more to us! But most of all, it has brought honor to our Savior and God as we’ve listened and sang along.

Unfortunately, with social distancing requirements, it’s impossible to host a reception to honor her in our typical way when someone retires, but, we can still do something! The personnel committee and staff would like to collect a love offering. If you’d like to give towards this, please designate your offering to ‘Becky Woodall--retirement’.

Also, I want to ask each person in our church to think of the many ways that this extremely talented lady has blessed you through her playing. Then, write a card, a note, or a letter and either send it to her through the mail or drop it off at the church so that we can shower her with blessings through our words of gratitude and memories of the blessings she’s given to us. Let’s flood the Woodall’s mailbox to the point that they have to buy a bigger one!

Becky Woodall, you are a treasure! Words are inadequate. Thank you! ‘To God be the glory for the things He has done’ in and through you!

In Christ,
Joshua Roberts
Thank you for your continued monetary gifts toward the Blessing Box ministry. We look forward to beginning those ministries again very soon. Thank you, too, for the many who have inquired about the ministry and voiced their support for it to continue. We know the needs will still be great in days ahead and ask your continued prayers that God will be seen as we share, and that He will provide opportunities to share His love with those with whom we encounter.

“AND ON THIS ROCK I WILL BUILD MY CHURCH”
Matthew 16:18
Just a reminder of a few favorite scriptures written on the foyer floor during our remodel:
* Now to Him who is able to do above and beyond all that we ask or think according to the power that works in you—to him be glory to the church and Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever Amen! Ephesians 3:20-21
* Look at the nations and watch—and be utterly amazed. For I am going to do something in your days that you would not believe, even if you were told. Habakkuk 1:5
*Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5,6
Thank you for all the lovely cards and beautiful flowers you sent for my birthday. I was able to celebrate for a week (and more) as the cards kept pouring in.

It thrilled me to recognize so many names from both present and past church members who took the time and effort to write to me.

God has blessed me through NHBC!
~Leima Cannefax

Thank you for your continued prayers and many cards sent during this difficult time of losing our granddaughter, Lorenn. National Heights, you are a very caring church family.
