PBDD Welcomes New Board Member



Pine Bluff Downtown Development is pleased to welcome new board member Angela Adams. Angela has worked for Simmons Bank for 20 years and as a bank officer manages the CIF Department of the Deposit Operations Group spanning four locations within the Simmons Bank footprint. The PBDD Board is looking forward to her joining this organization. Her leadership skills and community involvement will be a great benefit to the board.

Check out the cafe at the downtown Simmons Bank location. 3rd Generation Chef, Jay McAfee, has created a fantastic menu at this new lunch spot. From 7:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. the cafe offers a different warm plate lunch each day along with several grab and go options. In addition, sweets, breakfast pastries and even a full salad bar are available. The cafe may be a little hard to find if you do not know the location. Take the elevator to the mezzanine floor (M), immediately off the elevator turn right and follow the hallway to the cafe. Pine Bluff Takeover Black Rodeo

Pine Bluff Convention Center

7:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.

For the first time the Takeover Black Rodeo will be held in Pine Bluff at the Pine Bluff Convention Center. Daniel Moore, a Pine Bluff native, is bringing the show to town. The rodeo will feature steer wrestling, calf roping, barrel racing and junior barrel racing, bull riding and "mutton bustin" for the kids where sheep will be ridden.


Competitions to qualify for the show will take place from 9:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m., the rodeo begins at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $25 for adults and $15 for children 6 - 12. Tickets can be purchased through the Pine Bluff Convention Center website or on the rodeo's Facebook page, Pine Bluff Takeover Black Rodeo. Ticket sales end June 30, 2023. Fourth of July Celebration in Pine Bluff Regional Park

The Pine Bluff Festival Association will once again hold the annual 4th of July fireworks show at Regional Park. The celebration will begin at 8:00 p.m. at the softball complex with music and activities featuring Laron Marbley of Deltaplex Radio's The Beat 99.3 FM.


Fireworks will start at 9:00 p.m. and admission is free. There will be limited parking near the softball complex as well as Saracen Landing. Parking will also be available at the Jefferson County Courthouse and surrounding areas.


In case of severe weather, the fireworks will only be available for viewing at the complex on July 5th at 9:00 p.m. For more information call: 870.692.8601 or 870.536.0920.
