What Companies Need to Know About Ohio's New Gun Law
|

Ohio's new gun law takes effect June 13 which will permit all qualified adults to carry concealed non-restricted firearms without a license. The new law expands the rights of concealed firearm holders and may require you to update some policies. Click here for a great article explaining the new law from the Ohio Chamber.

FEDC & Chamber Launch Podcast
|
|
Fostoria Economic Development & Fostoria Area Chamber of Commerce have launched a Podcast, "Shut Up & Listen: Small Town Stories with Sarah & Renee". The podcast features FEDC President, Renee Smith, and Chamber/Small Business Director, Sarah Stephens Krupp, sharing all things Fostoria and inviting special guests to join them in a light hearted conversation.
The podcast can be found on Spotify, Apple and Google. The podcast drops the first and third Wednesday of each month and you can learn more and follow Shut Up & Listen: Small Town Stories on Facebook and Instagram.

July Fostoria Farmers’ & Artisans’ Market
Join over 40 vendors on Saturday, July 16th when the market has a “Healthy Living” theme, sponsored by ProMedica Fostoria Community Hospital/Sodexo. There will be health screenings and educational materials, a mobile COVID-19 vaccination unit, kids activities and The Ohio State University SNAP-Ed will be on-hand to provide nutrition education. Plus, while downtown for the market stop by the Parkette at the corner of North and Main Streets for a free program on Hummingbirds by the Seneca Park District at 10:00 a.m.
The market will be held from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the grass lot at the corner of East Tiffin and South Main Streets. There is still time to register to participate as a vendor at this market. See Fostoria Farmers’ & Artisans’ Market for more details.

Greater Fostoria Community Foundation Announces New Fund
|
|
The Greater Fostoria Community Foundation, Inc. announced the establishment of The Fostoria Flag Fund as a new component fund of the foundation at the June 14th 10th year anniversary rededication of the 20’ x 30’ United States flag placement at the Midblock intersection in Fostoria. The sole purpose of The Fostoria Flag Fund is to maintain the presence of this United States Flag. “We’re pleased to help carry on the vision of the original Fostoria Flag Fund committee that worked so diligently to raise money to bring this beautiful flag to our community. Going forward the Greater Fostoria Community Foundation will accept donations and memorials to ensure that the flag is maintained at the Midblock intersection in Fostoria. The fund is positioned to make this a reality for many years to come,” said Michele Cochran, executive director of the Greater Fostoria Community Foundation.
Tax-deductible contributions, including memorial gifts, for The Fostoria Flag Fund may be directed to the Greater Fostoria Community Foundation (GFCF) office at 342 Perry Street, PO Box 684, Fostoria, Ohio 44830 at any time. Fostoria Area Historical to Host Ribbon Cutting to Celebrate Capital Improvements at North Street Museum
The Historical Society will kick off Heritage & St. Wendelin Mini Fest with a ribbon cutting to celebrate the reopening of the North Street Museum thanks to a successful capital improvement campaign.
The ribbon cutting will be held at 10 a.m. at the North Street Museum, 123 W. North St. and will be followed by refreshments and Heritage Days & St. Wendelin Mini Fest.

Fostoria Rotary Club to Host Downtown Summer Fling
|
|
Fostoria Rotary will host it first ever Downtown Summer Fling. On Thursday, August 18 in Market Square Park (corner of Tiffin & Main St.) from 7-11 p.m. the event will feature live music from Sugarcreek, beverages from The UrbanWoody Brewery and The HoneyBee Winery and food.
