What is a Limited Submission?

A limited submission solicitation places a cap on the number of proposals Auburn may submit to a sponsor. Auburn coordinates limited submissions with notifications via this newsletter and competitions created in the Auburn University Competition Space (InfoReady). To apply to any limited submission posted in this newsletter, click on the link within the announcement. Please refer to the Limited Submission Procedures page for a general list of requirements.

If you find an opportunity of interest contact the PSFS office sooner than later so that an internal competition can be created for a timely, university-wide, fair and equitable selection process that allows for ample time for review, feedback and revisions.

NIH: Seed Instrumentation Support (SIS) Program (S10 Clinical Trial Not Allowed)

This program aims to build new research capacity and develop a sustainable research program by supporting the purchase of a single commercially available biomedical research instrument currently unavailable in the institution. Instruments funded through this program must be shared among the users to create new research opportunities, enable reproducible data generation, encourage collaborative research and training, and strengthen long-term research capabilities.

Eligible instruments include, but are not limited to, mass spectrometers, cell sorters, bioimagers, DNA and protein sequencers, light microscopes, 3D printers, and high-performance computers. Applications for general purpose computer systems (computer clusters and data storage systems) will only be considered if the system is solely dedicated to biomedical research.

Institutional Limit: One (1) Application

Funding Opportunities

USDA: FY26 Regional Conservation Partnership Program (RCPP) Classic  


The RCPP promotes the coordination of NRCS conservation activities with partners that offer value-added contributions to expand our ability to address on-farm, watershed, and regional natural resource concerns. Through the RCPP, NRCS seeks to co-invest with partners to implement projects that provide solutions to conservation challenges thereby measurably improving the resource concerns they seek to address. The following are the three key principles of RCPP.


1. Impact. RCPP proposals must include effective and compelling solutions that address one or more natural resource concerns to help solve natural resource challenges. A
2. Partner Contributions. Partners are responsible for identifying any combination of cash and in-kind contributions to leverage NRCS’s RCPP investments to support or benefit project area producer contracts.
3. Partnerships and Management. Partners must have the experience and ability necessary to manage the partnership and project, reach out to producers, and assess environmental impacts.

American Cancer Society Professor Award

ACS Professor awards are primarily honorific awards for individuals who have made seminal contributions in cancer research. Applicants must have obtained the rank of full professor, and, at the time of application, applicants must have been a full professor for 5 or more years but no more than 20 years. It is expected that applicants have made and will likely continue to make, impactful contributions to change the direction of cancer research. These notable cancer research achievements could have been fundamental, preclinical, clinical, psychosocial, behavioral, health policy and/or epidemiologic in focus. Commitment and success in scientific mentoring and leadership as well as community engagement are also carefully considered.

NEH: Scholarly Editions and Translations

The purpose of this program is to support collaborative teams who edit, annotate, and translate foundational humanities texts that are vital to generating new scholarship but are not available in adequate editions or translations. This year’s competition is limited to projects on American history and culture or Western civilization.

The program includes three funding levels: Planning, Implementation, and Chairman’s Special Awards.

You may revise and resubmit an application not selected for funding.

American Chemical Society

Principal Investigator Development in Sustainability Grant

This award will provide funding to early or mid-career investigators to spend 6-12 months in the laboratory of a private company, a national laboratory, or an academic laboratory in a different institution, with the goal of establishing robust collaborations across industry-academia or across disciplines and taking advantage of the mentorship of a faculty member distinct from their prior mentors.

Early Career Postdoctoral-Faculty Bridge Grant

The ACS Early Career Postdoctoral-Faculty Bridge Grant provides support at this crucial junction in the form of a salary for a postdoctoral fellow/associate, who can both help launch the new research lab and gain invaluable experience in the process that can be applied to their own ability to launch an independent career in the future. To ensure meaningful mentorship for the postdoctoral fellow/associate, the award stipulates that the new PI will participate in ACS-based training in green chemistry education and mentorship. This grant mechanism is synergistic with the ACS P2F workshop, which provides critical training to a select group of postdoctoral fellows/associates from around the country.

Simons Foundation: Targeted Grants to Institutes 

This program is intended to support established institutes or centers in the mathematics and theoretical basic physical sciences through funding to help strengthen contacts within the international scientific community. Our aim is to enable institutes to extend and enhance their missions; this program will not provide primary support for operating or establishing an institute. This program will also not support initiatives, consortiums or organizations that do not have a physical space.

USDA-ARS Research Meeting

August 26, 2026

9:00am -11:00am

Melton Student Center, Room 2222

Dr. Phillip Owens, the Southeast Area Deputy for USDA-ARS, will meet with USDA-ARS funded researchers and administrators from across Auburn to share information about ARS funding, administration pressure to ensure compliance with award Terms and Conditions, and Congressional and Administration intent for the funds Auburn receives. 

Dr. Owens will also discuss the importance of the Form 115 Manuscript Review Process and will address any other specific issues AU researchers might have during a Q&A session.

NASA Research Security Training Update

In accordance with Grant Information Circular 26‑02, Research Security Training Requirements, all covered individuals named on NASA grant and cooperative agreement proposals will be required to attest that they have completed research security training prior to proposal submission beginning August 5, 2026. This attestation will be made by signing a certification included in the NASA biographical sketch and current and pending (other) support forms.

CCTS Clinical Investigator Training Program (CITP)

CITP is a concise five-week course focusing on the roles and responsibilities of principal investigators in clinical research, highlighting administrative infastructure, and aims to streamline trial activation processes. The program emphasizes the duties of investigators in human clinical trials.

The Hanover Research Grants Learning Center (GLC) on-demand grant development training portal offers faculty enrollees the unique opportunity to receive targeted training through self-paced, interactive modules with step-by-step guidance and templates for prospective applicants to develop compelling proposals. The Semantic Search tool in Pivot-RP is a great new feature to target relevant funding opportunitites. Semantic Search is an AI-powered natural language feature that goes beyond basic keywords to understand the underlying concepts and meaning of your research. Located under the "Advanced Search" tab, this feature allows you to paste entire paragraphs or abstracts to discover contextually relevant grants!

This feature can also help surface funding opportunities that use different terminology but still apply to your exact research goals. For best results, combine Semantic Search with additional filters in "Advanced Search" to quickly narrow to the most relevant matches.
