Sown Together by Andrea Raes
Sown Together is an exhibition about identity as well as the threads of human diversity. It is an exploration of individuality, self-identification, and the correlations of humanity as a whole. It conveys tearing classifications apart and using the remnants to rebuild humankind.

The exhibition will be composed of digital images as well as small, figural sculptures, approximately 14 to 15 inches in length, with each displaying different ethnic hues. There will be several soft sculptures including three, hand made, life size figures as well as smaller works that will be displayed on pedestals.

Universal by Bekki Canine
This series depicts the planets in our solar system, but also references, as we look out to these other planets, what we have to lose on our own. I wanted to include the Roman gods that inspired the names of the planets in our solar system. Floating in front of each planet is an animal that has attributes of the god or goddess the planet is named for. The toga worn by each animal is made from chemistry book pages. This creates a juxtaposition between the spiritual/ mythical aspect of the planets’ namesakes and the scientific nature of the chemical makeup of the planets themselves.
