Hot enough out there for ya'? If you're reading this in the U.S., I imagine you're feeling the heatwave that pretty much the whole country is having right now. Our part of Wisconsin has finally had a break in the dryness with several recent strong storms and heavy rainfalls. However, we're still considered to be in a severe to extreme drought due to having a major rainfall deficit compared to what we would normally have received by this time of year.

Luckily for the vegetable garden, the heat and rain combo have contributed to lots of growth. Noel is harvesting a lot right now! Especially zucchini. So many zucchini. See more below for links to a tour of Noel's July garden and fritter recipe to help use up all those zucchini.

Just like last summer, earlier this month, Andy and I joined some friends for another road trip to visit more of our national parks. This time we headed east instead of west. Scroll down for a selection of Andy's photos from the trip.

Don't forget to enter our monthly giveaway (just reply to this email and request to be entered). As always, feel free to leave us any additional comments when you do!

Gotta do something with all that zucchini. Judy's recipe for zuke fritters is a tasty way to help.

Andy's Photo Corner
Two weeks ago, Anneliese and I returned from another summer road trip visiting more of our national parks. Below is a roundup of some of the places we saw along the way. In order, they are sunset over Energy Lake at Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area (KY), the Mountain Farm Museum at Oconaluftee Visitor Center in Great Smoky Mountains National Park (NC), a view from Clingman's Dome at Great Smoky Mountains National Park (NC), Cumberland Falls State Resort Park (KY), a view of the aptly named Green River in Mammoth Cave National Park (KY), and the Rotunda inside Mammoth Cave (KY). It was a joy and a privilege to be able to experience these beautiful places. Please enjoy the photos!
