Happy Belgian National Day! And happy belated 4th of July & Bastille Day! We love July. It's the time of year we get to celebrate the places we love with the beer they brew! Read on and check out some of our latest beery cool pics, videos, travels and contests!
What was your 4th of July beer? Did you go patriotic? There are so many great American Craft  Beers it's hard to decide, isn't it? We had a great time sampling some of the best of them and visiting with some of our favorite beer peeps at SAVOR in NYC last month, like Draft Magazine Editor, Erika Rietz, pictured here with Ruth. Speaking of Draft Magazine-they will be Giving Away a Personal Home Draft System that you can win just by nominating and then voting for your favorite beer bar-the one that serves the best, freshest brews on tap. The winning bar will have the opportunity to pour a very special version of Pilsner Urquell, flown straight from the Plzn brewery and host a Founder's Day event.

Ooh la la! Last weekend we celebrated  Bastille Day, France's Independence day. For us, this was an easy

choice as far as what to drink-the beers from some of our favorite French breweries of course! Like the delicious Page 24 A La Rhubarbe from Stephane Bogaert of Brasserie St. Germain, one of the stops on our France and Belgium Beercation Cruise.

Another favorite of ours is the award winning Cuvee de Jonquilles from the multi generational family of brewers at Brasserie Au Baron. Xavier Bailleux represented his family at the FESTIVAL this year.

And we always love Daniel Thiriez' tasty brews. Daniel told us that he brews the beers that he likes to drink. We like to drink them too! Especially in his tasting room in France!
If you haven't had a chance to sample some of these delicious brews, they are, of course, best fresh from the taps in the tasting rooms at the breweries in France, where we'll be heading on our Grand Crus to Farmhouse Brews Beercation Cruise this October.

And even though we visit our French Brewing Friends on this beercation, we are also visiting a number of Belgian Favorites as well, from Westvleteren to St. Bernardus, Rodenbach, Chimay and many more. Of course, we'll be doing some great sightseeing as well, including tours of Flanders Fields in Belgium and Frances "little Paris"- the old quarter of Lille, plus the Hops Museum in Poperinge. This trip is full of surprisingly great beer and culture- epsecially for those who haven't visited this area before. Only a few spots are left though-so book today!
