New School Year Principal/ECC Leader Meeting
After reviewing the principal survey results regarding the 2022 Principal’s Back to School meeting date, this year’s meeting will be held on August 3rd as planned. Moving forward, we will schedule the Back to School Principal’s meeting early in the second week of August to allow for principals, teachers and parents to enjoy “dead week” with their families. Thank you for your time and input regarding this matter.
Teachers & Staff Celebrating Milestone Years in Catholic Education
We will be honoring teachers and staff who are celebrating milestone years as Catholic Educators during Convocation. Please complete this Google Form, indicating teachers and staff who are celebrating 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 or 35+ years in Catholic Education (any diocese). This was due July 1st. Please complete this task right away so that your staff can be recognized.
Office of Child and Youth Protection Important Changes!
The Safe Environment policies have been updated. The new policies will be shared with everyone very soon.

One big change is the Mandated Reporter training. This training will now be through the State of Missouri https://protectmokids.com/. All school employees will need to participate in the online training, save their certificate and turn it in to the SEC and/or principal for each building. On the VIRTUS website, each employee will need to acknowledge they have participated in the Mandated Reporter training. All School employees will need to do the Mandated Reporter Training each year and turn in the current certificate of participation to the SEC and/or principal.

Another big change is that ALL employees (paid employees, volunteers, substitutes) need to have completed the following before entering the building and working with children:
·  Attended Protecting God’s Children Live training (or Zoom Live Training)
·  Sign the Ethics in Ministry (EIM) Document
·  Participated in the Missouri KidsFirst Mandated Reporter Training
·  Have a completed background check on file.

Please create a plan to share this information with your school employees, substitutes and volunteers before school starts so they can complete the new Missouri Mandated Reporter training.
Ruah Woods – Theology of the Body Curriculum
Just a reminder, Bishop Johnston has asked ALL schools in our Diocese to adopt the Ruah Woods – Theology of the Body curriculum K-12 beginning the 2022-23 school year. The Ruah Woods – Theology of the Body curriculum will supplement your religion curriculum. This resource does not replace the current religion curriculum for any grade level. For more information about the curriculum and to order your school’s materials go to www.RuahWoodsPress.com.

EANS Contractors Information Needed
In order to track that all contracted employees who work with students are in compliance with our safety protocols, please use this form to list all contractors paid for with EANS fund. If the position has not yet been filled, you can note that on the form. This information was due July 1st so please submit right away. EANS Contractors 2022/23 School Year
MoScholars Program
Bright Futures is working tirelessly to both assist families in accessing the MoScholars program and to raise the funds for scholarships. We need your help in making families aware of this opportunity for scholarships to attend our schools. Participation in the MoScholars program, for eligible schools and areas, is critical for the long term viability of our schools. Please encourage families who may qualify for this program to go to www.brightfuturesfund.org to get more information or to apply.
In order to better serve families who apply to the MoScholars program, it is essential we have your capacity for each grade level. If you haven’t already done so, please email your capacity by grade level to me kroh@diocesekcsj.org and Lisa Kremer lkremer@diocesekcsj.org. Having your capacity numbers will allow Bright Futures to redirect potential students to other schools in the event the grade level requested is already at capacity. Our goal is to have class sizes of 25 students.  Let’s work together to provide a high quality, faith based education to families who would like to be part of our school communities!
