NJSPE Awards & Installation Reception Recap

The New Jersey Society of Professional Engineers’ Installation and Awards Reception on June 22, 2022 at Mercer Oaks Country Club was a huge success. With over 120 NJSPE members and guests, we installed the 2022-2023 Board Members and presented the 2022 Awards honoring individuals and firms for achievements in the practice and profession of engineering. It was an incredible evening focused on the advancement of the engineering profession and the society. Proposed NJ Design Build Regulations Available for Comments

In the Spring of 2021 Governor Murphy signed the “Design Build” law. This is the contracting unit awards the contract to the lowest responsible bidder that demonstrates the ability to complete the project specified in the design provided in the bid specifications. By contrast, in a design-build project, the contracting unit solicits design proposals from prospective contractors that work in tandem with design professionals and other members of the contractor's design-build team. On May 27.2022, Lieutenant Governor Sheila Y. Oliver, Commissioner of the Division of Community Affairs submitted specially adopted and concurrently proposed new rules to the Design Build law.
