The Safety Council of Southwest Louisiana is pleased to announce a new keynote speaker for July 8, 2021.  Jeff Duncan is an author and Senior Writer at The Athletic. He previously worked at The (New Orleans) Times-Picayune, where he was a member of the team that won two Pulitzer Prizes for the paper’s coverage of Hurricane Katrina. He has been honored four times as the Columnist of the Year and four times for the Story of the Year by the Louisiana Sports Writers Association. He is the author of three books on the New Orleans Saints: Payton & Brees: The Men Who Built the Greatest Offense in NFL History; From Bags to Riches; and Tales from the Saints Sideline. He is one of forty-eight members of the Pro Football Hall of Fame Selection Committee.
We are honored and excited to welcome Jeff Duncan to Southwest Louisiana. We are sorry Coach Dale Brown was unable to join us due to health reasons and circumstances beyond his control. We wish him well and hope for the best.

Protect your workers from Heat Stroke! Workers who succumb to illness related to overheating, is a serious challenge in Southwest Louisiana. This results in missed work and can be fatal. An average of 702 people die each year from heat related factors. The course, Heat Stress, provides preventative measures while working outside or in heat related environments. 
Southwest Louisiana has a new upgraded and redesigned PQF system. The new system is called “industry PQF or iPQF” and was officially launched in January 2021.
