Alliance volunteers and neighborhoods paint intersection for Mural Day
About 30 Westshore Alliance members, volunteers, and neighborhood residents came together on Saturday, June 27 for Tampa Mural Day. The group painted a   mural at the intersection of Grady Avenue and Laurel Street in the Carver City / Lincoln Gardens neighborhood. The Westshore mural was one of five painted in Tampa on June 27. The street mural also includes a picture of a long-time resident of the neighborhood who served in World War II. The neighborhood was founded by African-American World War II veterans.

The City of Tampa recently completed a sidewalk that serves the intersection and Jim Walter Park on the northwest corner. The intersection is programmed to become a four-way stop in the coming months. Thank you to all the volunteers and residents who helped this project be a success.
Help design TBARTA's future transit stations
The Tampa Bay Area Regional Transit Authority (TBARTA) is currently working on a Regional Rapid Transit (RRT) project, a 41-mile Bus Rapid Transit system between Wesley Chapel and downtown St. Petersburg, primarily along the I-275 corridor. Part of that work is to design each station area, including a stop at Himes Ave and I-275. Take the survey here to provide ideas for the Himes stop and five other stops on the future system.
