Mayor Jane Castor recently announced chairs and members for her transportation and construction services advisory teams. The groups will be looking for ways to expedite transportation fixes and streamline access to permits for those looking to build in the city. Congratulations to the following Westshore Alliance members who have been selected to serve on these teams: Julia Mandell of GrayRobinson (chair), Meredith Freeman of Shutts & Bowen, Chase Collier of Highwoods Properties and Charlie Rollins of SPP have been tapped to served on the construction services advisory team. Joe Waggoner of the Tampa Hillsborough Expressway Authority and Gary Sasso of Carlton Fields will serve on the transportation advisory team. The City of Tampa has also launched a new website for the advisory teams. MORE

| Westshore Center, a 217,022 square foot office building in the heart of the Westshore Business District, has been sold to America's Capital Partners for $52 million. MORE |
| The Westin Tampa Bay, a 244 room, 16-story hotel on Rocky Point, has been sold to Nashville based Castlerock Asset Management. The seller of the hotel, Impact Properties LLC, developed the hotel and has been its sole owner since the hotel opened in 2009. Castlerock is planning a renovation that is slated to wrap up in 2020. | Westshore based Nextech Systems, one of the Tampa Bay area's largest software developers has been acquired by Boston based Thomas H Lee Partners, LP. Nextech will retain its corporate headquarters in Tampa and CEO Mike Scarbrough will continue to lead the company. MORE |
Bromley Cos. has selected Highwoods Properties to oversee a trio of planned office towers at its 22-acre Midtown Tampa project. Highwoods becomes the fourth development partner to join with New York-based Bromley on the $500 million project, at Interstate 275 and Dale Mabry Highway. MORE

| Macy's Backstage, the discount arm of the department store giant, opened at WestShore Plaza on June 22. Macy's has dedicated 14,200 square feet on the second level of its WestShore Plaza store to Backstage, which features discount goods not sold within the traditional department store. MORE |

United Airlines Breaks Ground at TPA
United Airlines recently broke ground on a new, state-of-the-art maintenance hangar facility at
Tampa International Airport that will enable the airline to provide service for its Boeing 737 series of aircraft while allowing the company to schedule more routine maintenance work. The project will create more than 40 new aircraft maintenance technician positions, with potential to add more, and 125 construction jobs.

Hillsborough MPO seeking business representative for Citizens Advisory Committee
The Hillsborough Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) is searching for a
business community representative to serve on the Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC). The CAC is an advisory committee of the MPO, which is the long-range transportation policy making board for Hillsborough County.
Applicants must reside in Hillsborough County and
apply by July 31 using the link here. Members are appointed by the MPO Board and serve a two-year term, with the opportunity to be reappointed. The CAC meets on the second or third Wednesday of every month at 9am. Email

The Hillsborough Metropolitan Planning Organization needs your input to prioritize transportation improvements to be included in Hillsborough County's 2045 Long Range Transportation Plan. The survey includes all modes of transportation and allows you to decide what type of projects should be funded.

Tampa International Airport seeking artists for Phase 2 expansion
Tampa International Airport is seeking to commission nine artists to create bold, innovative public art projects as part of a large expansion. Commissions range from just under $100,000 to $520,000. The deadline to apply for consideration is July 17 and the call is open to visual artists working in any medium.
