A Message From
The Executive Director
COVID-19 has disproportionately impacted the individuals and families we serve at Bayaud, especially families and single adults who are challenged with disabilities, homelessness, and/or poverty. We have had to continually adapt to the uncertainty and ever-changing practices during the pandemic to ensure the safety and well-being of program participants and our staff. We’re taking all the necessary safety precautions and we have been strengthening our organization with new systems, computer equipment, and supports to continue the provision of essential services by internet and phone.
I want to thank all our generous supporters who enable us to grow and expand programming across the Denver metro area. I am very excited to share with you an update on our newest program,
Adams County Day Works
, which is now in full swing and providing employment and self-sufficiency services for adults experiencing homelessness in Adams County.
We currently have two work crews that include 12 participants who are experiencing homelessness cleaning the Clear Creek Trails. Adams County Day Works provides daily wages, work boots and clothing, breakfast and lunch, transportation support with RTD tickets, case management and employment services. Participants are also supported in obtaining identification cards and Social Security cards and are connected to housing assistance.
We are truly grateful for financial support we have received and for the donations of water and snacks
.
In next year, we hope to expand our mobile laundry and shower services for people experiencing homelessness, and we have begun our search for foundation and individual support to purchase a second shower truck, which makes job search, education, and permanent housing more attainable for adults and children experiencing homelessness.
It is with heartfelt appreciation for the generous support of all our partners that we continue to work diligently to
create Hope, Opportunity, and Choice, for our communities’ most vulnerable residents.
Together we are improving the lives of thousands of children, families, and single adults who without our support would continue to experience barriers to self-sufficiency, good health, and overall well-being.
Warmly,
Tammy Bellofatto
