☀️ Stay Safe in the July Sun
National UV Safety Month & Beating the Heat
|
July brings longer days, stronger UV exposure, and more time spent outdoors. Taking a few simple precautions can help protect your skin and keep you feeling your best all summer long.
🧴UV Safety:
- The One Ounce Rule: Use at least one ounce of sunscreen for full body coverage.
- Check the Blind Spots: Don't forget the tips of the ears, back of the neck, and tops of the feet!
- The 15-Minute Rule: Apply sunscreen at least 15 minutes before heading outside so it has time to fully absorb and protect your skin.
🌡️ Beat the Heat:
- Hydrate Intentionally: Don’t wait until you’re thirsty — drink water consistently, especially on hot and humid days.
- Take Shade Breaks: If you’re spending extended time outdoors, step into the shade periodically to avoid overheating.
- Know the Signs: Dizziness, headache, nausea, and fatigue can all be early signs of heat exhaustion.

🐾 Service Animal Guidelines
Our practice welcomes service animals in accordance with the ADA and Massachusetts law. To help us provide a safe and comfortable environment, please notify our office in advance if you will be bringing a service animal to your visit.
- Control: Service animals must remain under the handler's control (leash, harness, or tether) at all times.
- Care: Handlers are responsible for supervising and cleaning up after their animal.
- Arrival: As a medical facility, to promote the safety and comfort of all patients, you may be asked to wait in your vehicle until your exam room is fully ready.
|
Emotional Support Animals: Comfort, therapy, and companion animals are not classified as service animals under the ADA or state law. Access is evaluated on a case-by-case basis. |
Our staff complies fully with all federal and state regulations. If a dog's task is not readily apparent, staff are legally permitted to ask if the animal is required due to a disability and what specific work it has been trained to perform.
