JULY NEWS
July / 1 / 2019
Dear Forest Hills Family and Friends,

Over the last few years the Charitable Care Program at Forest Hills and Forest Side has accepted an ever growing number of residents applying for financial assistance. The program has grown to the point where financial assistance has reached $650,000 annually, and significantly exceeds the Board approved annual contribution established in 2008. The FHDC Board of Trustees met on June 18, 2019 and voted to place a moratorium on the Charitable Care Program until such time as the annual contribution by FHDC returns to board approved levels.

We currently have five residents enrolled in the program and benefits for these individuals will not be affected. We are sorry we must limit the program at this time and appreciate your understanding of the financial demands made upon us by regulatory requirements and other factors.

In the meantime, we are pleased to continue offering a full schedule of  Enrichment Programming. This month we're looking forward to our usual workshops, lectures and music with Joey Manlapáz, Robert Jenner and Jerry Roman, as well as some special celebrations for Independence Day. Read on in this newsletter for a highlight of upcoming programs and the full Life Enrichment Program schedule.

Thank you, as always, to all of the family and friends we get to see visiting us at Forest Hills.

Have a happy and safe Fourth of July!

Hope to see you around,
