July Gallery Walk Program
Poo Wright-Pulliam Craters of the Moon Show

Friday, July 8
5:00pm-8:00pm
ERC Office (471 Washington Ave N, Ketchum)

Join the ERC on Friday, June 8 from 5:00-8:00pm for a special showing of Poo Wright-Pulliam's Craters of the Moon National Monument and Preserve Artist-In-Residence Exhibition.

Poo spent 21 days in total on this "weird and scenic landscape" where, at first glance, one might believe nothing could possibly live.  Her show depicts the species that not only live but thrive in this extreme habitat with over 100 birds, wildflowers, plants, mammals and insects sighted, sketched and painted. Sixteen pieces will be on display including the original "Night On The Moon" - a print of which is hanging in the US Botanic Garden in Washington DC for the "Flora of the National Parks" in celebration of the NPS 100th Anniversary.  Works on display will be available for purchase that evening.

ERC's EcoCamps
Our Second Week of Camp Kicks Off Next Week!

Traversing the Backcountry
July 11 - July 15
Open to rising 7th-9th grade campers

Last week's "Exploring Wild Idaho" overnight EcoCamp for rising 5th and 6th grade campers was a success! Campers took to the trails each day and stayed cool at Big Fall Creek Falls and Wildhorse Creek.  They weathered an epic thunderstorm while camping off-site and enjoyed s'mores around the campfire! Lifelong memories were definitely made last week!

Next week, we look forward to hosting our "Traversing the Backcountry" overnight EcoCamp for rising 7th-9th grade campers.  This camp will have more of a leadership focus, with campers gaining important backcountry navigation skills such as Leave No Trace and orienteering. Camp culminates in an overnight backpacking trip. We can't wait to share those stories with you!
