COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT SIGN UP

We are excited to announce the 2024-25 Youth Board Executive Committee! These leaders ensure that the youth voice leads the way in organizational decisions and mentorship. In addition to leading Youth Board meetings and events, the Executive Committee plans and leads leadership camps, retreats, and other leadership workshops, and represents Hands4Hope in the community through public speaking engagements. Get to know these outstanding young leaders through their bios, where they have shared more about their individual strengths and goals for this year.

MEET THE 2024-25 YBEC

Get ready to celebrate America's birthday with a bang at the Kids Zone Area powered by Hands4Hope at the El Dorado Hills Town Center Fireworks & Freedom Concert happening this Wednesday, July 3 from 6:00 to 9:30 pm!

Hands4Hope youth have been hard at work planning and coordinating all aspects of this fun event-within-an-event, which features large bounce houses, inflatables, and activities for children ages 2-16, concessions, and a family lounge area. Wristbands are available with presale pricing online through July 2 at noon, presale in-person purchase at the California Welcome Center through July 3 at 4 pm, and are available at the door as well.

Volunteers are needed for this event, especially adults. Please consider helping out. For youth, the annual participation fee is waived for this event because it is a fundraiser, so we encourage youth in 6th-12th grades looking for a fun service opportunity to sign up as well.

KIDS ZONE VOLUNTEERING AND WRISTBANDS

Thank you to the "Star Spangled" sponsors of this event: El Dorado Hills Town Center, McDonalds, Bounce House Rentals, and Folsom Times.

This summer, six youth ages 10 to 14 are headed to summer camps that they would have otherwise been unable to afford, thanks to the work of the youth-led Ryan Christopher Hersh Scholarship Committee. Committee members met regularly in recent months to determine this year's criteria and create resources, distribute the application, and then met to review applications (pictured above) and award scholarships. This year's awardees will be attending camps that enhance their skills or foster their interests like coding, outdoor education, sports, and games. The Committee was able to award $2,500 in scholarships this summer. Stay tuned for an update later on from the campers when they report about their experiences.

ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

Youth must be in 6th through 12th grades, and the survey is due by July 10.
