Lots of fun and exciting stuff is coming up at Progress Fitness Center this summer! We created monthly newsletters to help our members stay informed!

The Thousand Rep Challenge

You have 30 days to complete one or all of the following:
  • 1,000 Pull-ups
  • 1,500 Push-ups
  • 2,000 Squats

Choose to complete one,two, or all three of the exercise challenges above. You can perform the exercise anyway you choose, such as a body weight squat or using a weight/bar. How many reps you choose to perform each day is up to you! (Ex. 1,500 push-ups/ 30 days = 50 reps per day)

The first three people to complete ALL three challenges will win Progress Fitness apparel. Members who complete any of the challenges will also win a prize. Pick up your tracking card at the front desk! Challenge starts August 1st!

"Variety Pack"  for August:
Wednesday 8:35AM Variety Pack class will be "Blackjack" for the entire month of August with Meri! 

First person to 21 wins! Twenty-one different exercises, 21 repetitions each. Prizes will be given every week to the lucky winner! A combination of strength and cardio exercises are sure to get your heart pumping while toning your body. The workout will be different each week.

High Protein, Low-carb Mac & Cheese

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup Milk (any milk will do)
  • 1/4 cup unflavored pea protein powder
  • 1/4 cup grated cheddar cheese
  • 1 tbsp coconut flour
  • 1 tsp powdered cheddar (optional)
  • Garlic salt to taste
  • Italian seasoning to taste
  • Dry parsley or basil to taste

Directions:

  1. Cook four servings of whole grain pasta
  2. Mix all the sauce ingredients in a bowl. Bring to a simmer and stir until well combined.
  3. Add the sauce to your pasta. Season to taste. Done!
Drink up, Buttercup!
The Institute of Medicine recommends that men get about 125 ounces of water daily and that women get 91 ounces. However, if you are exposed to lots of heat or are very active you may need to consume more.

Exercise in hot, humid conditions can dehydrate a person in as little as 30 minutes. Take caution when working out outside.  You'll need to take longer breaks, shorten the workout or intensity level, and dress appropriately.
