GUILD MEETING

Botanical Hand Printing

Botanical Hand Printing

with Laurel Herbeck

Thursday, July 30

4:45 - 7:00PM

At The Folk School

Celebrate summer at our next Guild meeting on Thursday, July 30. Laurel Herbeck will lead the program with a great project using plant material to embellish papers for bookmaking. We will be applying water-based inks and paints to plants and hand-pressing them onto a variety of papers, and create a small accordion book of our sample prints to take home. Read more.

Please bring the following tools and materials to the meeting:

Roll of wax paper

watercolor brushes

Bone folder

Straight edge

Apron and plastic gloves

Plastic container for water

Paper towels

Brayers if you have them

***Fresh plant material pressed overnight (phone books and waxed paper work great for this), can be leaves, flowers, grasses, ferns, etc.

BOOK EXCHANGE

The Book Exchange theme for this meeting is "Scavenged." Make a book for the exchange and enjoy the fun seeing what our fellow bookmakers have created with found objects and materials!
