Summer is in full swing and we can't wait to see everyone at Cheers for Ears our free family concert at Ravinia Park! Our tickets are sold out, but please email us if you want to be on our wait list
Lazy summer days and nights are perfect for you and your children to take time to read together. We have put together a list of books featuring kids with hearing loss. Please read our new blog and send us your recommendations! We are planning to start a reading list on our website and would love to include your favorites.

Enjoy your summer and make sure to take time to have fun!

FHSR Supports Advocate Children's Hospital
Loaner Hearing Aid Bank
Last month the FHSR Associate Board members distributed $10,000 to Advocate Children's Hospital in Oak Lawn to support their Loaner Hearing Aid program.
The clinic supports primarily new immigrant families & low income children. This is the second year we have supported their program.
The Audiologists were thrilled and stated that they had never received outside support for their program before FHSR stepped in to assist with their patients.

Be on the lookout for the Cheers and Beers for Ears - Save the Date
to continue our fundraising efforts supporting loaner hearing aid banks!

FHSR is hard at work drafting our pilot program for our new Early Childhood Literacy program. Our model will train the early intervention specialists who go into homes and work directly with parents/caregivers of DHH children (ages 0-3), so they can reach and teach the families of children with hearing loss the importance and benefits of reading to the DHH child.   FHSR is planning to pilot the program in the early fall.
Make sure to send us the name of your DTH so we can send them the information once the program gets released!
Cheers for Ears!
