Annual Back Pack Distribution!!

Each August, hundreds of children throughout the Capitol Hill community begin the school year unprepared because of their family's financial difficulties. Many will be forced to begin their school year unprepared and at a disadvantage to falling behind their peers. To assist with this need, Capitol Hill Group Ministry (CHGM) will be hosting our Annual Back-to-School Back Pack Program through August 17, 2013.

CHGM partners with congregations such as Christ Church, Capitol Hill United Methodist, and St. Peter's for the Backpack Distribution, and this year will also be teaming up with local Capitol Hill elementary schools to reach the Ward 6 community.
Groups and individuals are invited to join this year's BackPack Drive through cash donations towards school supplies, sponsoring a child by grade, or contributing in-kind school items.
This year's goal is to double our 2012 success and serve more than 556 children in our community.

Capitol Hill Group Ministry (CHGM) is proud to host our 11th Annual "Hope for the Homeless" Golf Tournament on September 23, 2013. CHGM's annual charity raises necessary funds to assist homeless and underserved families in our Capitol Hill Community. By sponsoring & golfing in the tournament, you can help provide services for homeless families, not just on September 23rd, but all year long.

We invite you to join us on September 23rd (1pm Shotgun Start) to support CHGM's work, and enjoy a fun filled day at Glenn Dale Golf Club. This year's tournament will once again be a Captain's Choice/Scramble Tournament, with Individual Skills Contests on both the front and back 9. Registration includes green & cart fees, boxed lunch, one free Raffle ticket, unlimited beverages, and a buffet awards dinner.

As in years before, CHGM's golf tournament will feature more than $850 in cash prizes, the Peggy Pecore Putting Contest, and a chance to win $10,000 in a Hole-In-One Challenge.

For the first time this year, CHGM has added a new prize category to the tournament and will host a CHGM Clergy Partner Trophy for the lowest scoring team representing one of CHGM congregational partners.

Join local neighbors, business owners, clergy and friends for this annual community-based event that celebrates the Capitol Hill community, and helps support our neighbors in need. We look forward to seeing you for a great day of golfing at Glenn Dale Golf Course.

Thanks 2013 Sponsors
