Vacation Bible Camp 2018 - Shipwrecked!
Ahoy, Mateys! Venture onto an uncharted island where kids survive and thrive. Anchor kids in the truth that Jesus carries them through life’s storms. Each day at Shipwrecked VBC, kids travel through field-tested rotations that reinforce relevant Bible Points and immerse kids in new adventures.

Safety Advisory Committee (SAC)
We have received a full Safety Survey from Thomas Hausner and Associates. Overall, we were glad to find that we have some good things in place and we were not surprised to see that there are some important things we need to address...
Praise Team: Rehearses Wednesdays at 7:30PM
Each week the members of Praise Team faithfully lead worship in song at the 9:45 AM and 11:07 AM worship services. Members also help to lead worship for special services. Weekly rehearsals are on Wednesday nights from 7:30 - 8:30 PM! Some musical training would be preferred and members are required to attend as many rehearsals as possible. Immanuel Choir: Rehearses Wednesdays at 6:45PM
CALLING ALL SINGERS! Rehearsals for our Immanuel Choir will begin promptly at 6:45 PM on Wednesday nights and will feature several different genres of music. Our goal is to create an environment where we encourage fellowship and the further development of your musicianship skills. I am excited to see what great music we can make! No experience is needed and rehearsals are not mandatory, as I know schedules are busy during the summer months. Please join us as we praise God and share our gifts with Immanuel. God Bless!
“RevivaL” - Youth Worship Band

Fellowship Hour
Beverages are available following the first service at the Welcome Center Counter in the Gathering Space. Help yourself to information about Immanuel on the counter. 
Our Fellowship Hour follows the first service in the Fellowship Hall. Join us for treats, beverages, and conversation. It’s a great way to meet new friends, and to share in fellowship with others. All are welcome!! Fellowship is a fundamental need for a thriving church. Summer Fellowship Hour Change Continuing through Sunday September 2nd, we will asking everyone from the congregation to assist with this ministry while we give our "teams" a much deserved summer break and give everyone an opportunity to serve others and a chance to meet and work with new people! Monthly signup sheets can be located on the Fellowship Hall buffet table. We need 2 people to set up coffee, iced tea, lemonade, juice, etc. prior to the 8:15 service, 4 people to bring in snacks/treats, & 2 people to cleanup. Paper products, plastic ware, napkins are in good supply in the kitchen area. We suggest because of the busy summer schedule that the treats be simple & easy (purchased or homemade is welcome). We usually have between 20-40 people at the fellowship hour. In addition to helping with fellowship hour, please invite others to join us during this time of friendship and sharing. Contact Evie Schulz with questions or concerns.
Welcome Center Volunteers Needed
Do you like to meet people? We are looking for some fun people to be on the Welcoming Team. They set up coffee and water in the Welcome Center, greet and help connect visitors to members between services. Visitors to Immanuel always comment on how welcoming Immanuel is. We are incredibly grateful for your help! Contact Edith Draper at 248-1861 with any questions.
Assistance with Parking on Sundays
Assistance with parking is available on Sundays. Inquire at the Welcome Center if valet parking would help you, and we will add you to the schedule.
Parking on Sundays and Special Services
Able bodied members are encouraged to park in the outer parking stalls or the Middle School Lot when they can, so visitors and seniors can be closer to the entrances. Many Thanks! It’s a wonderful challenge to be short on parking spaces! Praise God, who gives the growth!!
Prayer Requests
We appreciate all of your prayer requests each week! We want to continue praying for all individuals because we know how powerful prayer is in the lives of so many. On the first of the new month, we will restart the prayer list. If someone needs to stay on the list, just let Bethany know by using the worship card found in the weekly bulletin, calling the church office (262.248.4211), emailing Bethany at secretary@immanuellg.org, or dropping off a note in the church office. We want your requests, so we can continue praying for those in need.
Name Tags Available
Name Tags can still be ordered. Please print your name(s) legibly on an envelope with "Name Tag" also printed on the envelope; place $5.00 per tag in the envelope (if you are financially able to do so), then seal and drop into the offering plate at your regular service or give to Bethany. We encourage EVERYONE to order a name tag.

Vacation Bible Camp

Sunday, July 8th from 3:45 pm there will be a meeting for all volunteers. This will be for all involved in VBC. We will be going over the plan for the week and answering any last questions.
Little Sprouts Daycare

Sunday Morning Nursery Staff
A nursery is provided during worship for children 4 and under to the left of the Sanctuary. Children over 5 years are encouraged to join their families during worship. Little treats are available on the coffee bar counter. Grab a “busy bag” for your preschooler at the entrance to the worship space, and return it to the stand when the service is finished.

“SPARK” Sunday School
Sparks Sunday School has ended for the year! Thank you to everyone who help make it such an AMAZING year!! The children are such a blessing to the church, can’t wait to see you all again in the Fall!
Just For Kids Summer Program (for ages 6-12)
Our mission at the Immanuel Lutheran JFK Summer Program is to provide exceptional and affordable child care for the families in our community. JFK summer program offers a safe and nurturing environment where kids ages 6-12 can come to have fun, build friendships, and make lasting memories!  Everyday will be a brand new adventure for your child! We play games that encourage teamwork and self development, create beautiful works of art, plant our own garden, have outdoor adventures and activities, music and singing, air hockey and ping pong. We watch movies and eat popcorn in our theater room and there is always time to read and perform skits. Of course, the most fun happens on our giant blow up waterpark—"THE CROC”. Our teachers cannot wait to spend the summers with you!!

Our JFK summer program 
begins JUNE 11th and goes until August 24th

JFKSP is open from 6am to 6pm, Monday through Friday and just $30.00 per day, offering discounts for families with multiple children. We only require a two day minimum per week. There is a $50 early enrollment/materials fee per child. Enrollments after June 11th are $75.00 per child.

JFKSP JUNIOR HELPERS *We have only two positions open for Junior Helper interns this year. (Great for students looking for volunteer hours.) You must be 13 years or older. Our Junior Helpers help assist teachers and Junior Leaders with our JFKSP and kids!  Being a junior helper provides adventures and experiences you may not experience elsewhere. You will learn how to be a mentor and be mentored. You will help teach JFKSP kids invaluable skills of independence, personal growth, teamwork, goal setting, and more.
IGNITE Middle School & FUEL High School Youth Group & Confirmation
Our Wednesday night gatherings are over for the year, but we’ll be back in the fall! In the meantime, keep watch for Spring and Summer events: movies, fishing, camping, beach party, etc... We will send out communication via email to our regular email lists as these events come up. Where: Pine Ridge Indian Reservation - Kyle, South Dakota
When: July 21-29

Please pray for our Mission Trip to the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in Kyle, SD. We have 27 adults and students who will spend the week with the Oglala Lakota on the Reservation.

Here’s the week at a glance:

Saturday, July 21st - drive to Kyle, SD and settle in…

Sunday, July 22nd - Worship with Communion and spend the rest of the day setting up our work sites.

Monday-Thursday July 23rd-26th - Work in the gardens of the Oyate Teca project, rehab homes, paint, work with children, and pretty much any other jobs they have for us… Experience Lakota culture and heritage - visit Wounded Knee, the badlands, Buffalo pasture, and learn about their religious heritage.

Friday, July 27th - pack up and head into the Black Hills to experience the Lakota ‘Holy Land.’ Spend the night at Outlaw Ranch Lutheran Camp.

Saturday, July 28th - Head home to Lake Geneva with a quick stop at Mt. Rushmore.

The ‘Mission’ of this trip to share the love of Jesus with our Lakota friends, showing them our care through service projects and learning about their culture and heritage. Relationships between Native Americans and the church have a rocky history. By building trusting relationships between the Lakota and Immanuel, we take steps toward mending all of the ways our relationships have been broken. We look forward to sharing our experiences with the congregation in August.

Community Connection Meal

"Stitchin' for Kids"
The Wednesday morning quilters have a special project in the works. They are making fleece blankets for the children who come to The Tree House (Children's Advocacy Center, Elkhorn) due to suspected physical or sexual abuse and/or neglect. Age range is anywhere from a couple weeks old to 17 years of age. This can be a traumatic experience for these precious souls and the Tree House staff has found that if they are able to give them a "Lovie" when they arrive, or leave, it helps calm and sooth the children while the process is taking place.  If you would like to help with this worthwhile endeavor, many hands make the project go quickly and it’s fun! Contact Jackie Kuehl for more info. Another way to be involved is to give a monetary donation to help offset the cost of each blanket ($20 per blanket). Donations can be placed in an envelope with "Stitching for Kids" on the outside and left with Bethany in the church office. If you prefer to write a check, make it out to Immanuel Lutheran Church and put "Stitchin' for Kids" on the memo line. This as an ongoing project. Last year 300+ children were served at the Tree House...that is a lot of blankets. Thank you for whatever you can do to be of assistance to these children.

Tree House
The Tree House is in need of ongoing supplies...these include certain snacks, toys, books, "Lovie" blankets, etc. Often times, children arrive hungry, thirsty and haven't eaten in a while or may be at The Tree House for several hours. Items such as individually sealed crackers, juice boxes, bottled water, packaged fruit snacks or other healthy packaged, non-perishable food items would be greatly appreciated. Also, upon completing the forensic interview, physical exam and/or counseling session, all children are offered a small toy or game. These items must be NEW in accordance with Children's Hospital rules. Examples would be board games, action figures, dolls, books, crafts or activities, sports items, stuffed animals, hot wheels, and/or toy trucks. The cost for these items range between $5 to $10. Anyone who would like to shop for these items is welcome to. Another option is to make a monetary contribution. Checks should be written to the WCAC and sent to W4063 Hwy NN, Elkhorn 53121. Indicate on the memo line that your donation is for "snacks" or "toys". You will receive an acknowledgement for tax purposes. 
Please place any donations you may have in the box marked with the WCAC sign on it which is located in the Gathering Space next to a Poster regarding The WCAC/Tree House. Please remember that the advocacy center is a division of Children's Hospital of Milwaukee and requires that all toys, books, etc. must be NEW and should not be wrapped. Check out the website for more information on the WCAC and how you can be of assistance… www.wcac4kids.org. St. Vincent De Paul (Milwaukee) Soup Kitchen
Our next service date is August 19th.  A Carpool leaves from Immanuel at 4pm.  We hope that many of you who wish to serve can do so. We are sometimes overwhelmed with the number of “guests” that come with the few of us there to serve them. Your participation in this ministry is greatly appreciated, especially from those served who tell us “may God bless you”. Also sleeping bags are desperately needed. ~ God bless! Bob Rosenthal
Side By Side Screening
Side By Side screening is on the 3rd Tuesday of each month, June 19th at 7pm at the First Congregational UCC Church, 715 Wisconsin Street, Lake Geneva. Funds are available for rental assistance and utilities – for those living in the Lake Geneva - Genoa City Badger High School District. Bring a copy of the bill. Side By Side is a collaborative ministry between area churches and civic groups.

Blood pressure checks are here at Immanuel after the 1st service on the 2nd Sunday of each month in the Library off of Fellowship Hall.
The Lake Geneva Food Pantry
The Lake Geneva Food Pantry is open on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:00 – 11:30am at First Congregational Church, 715 Wisconsin Street in Lake Geneva. Call 262-248-2337 for more info.

Walworth County Food Pantry
The Walworth County Food Pantry is open for donations of food and toiletries, volunteer training and tours on Tuesdays and Fridays from 10 am until 1 pm. The pantry is open for distribution of food to eligible residents of Walworth County on Tuesdays & Fridays from 1 pm until 4:30 pm. Special food packing events are scheduled on Saturdays. Attention ALL 2019 High School Graduates! The quilters are preparing for next year, if you are a soon to be 2019 Graduate and would like the quilters to make you a quilt in honor of your graduation please sign up at the welcome center. Only graduates that 
sign up will receive a quilt so please don’t forget to take a minute and provide your color choices next to your name on the sign up board. The quilters very much love providing these beautiful quilts for our grads!
Diaper Drive!
THANK YOU to all that contributed to our Diaper Drive! There were truly no ifs, ands, or BUTTS about it as the giving hearts of Immanuel have been overflowing. We received and dropped off over 2,800 diapers, over 500 baby wipes, and 1 diaper bag.  Again THANK YOU to everyone who helped make this possible. You are all a true BLESSING to Immanuel!
Summer Grief Support Group
Summer Grief Support Group will begin on Tuesday, July 31st from 10-11:30 am in the office conference room.  We anticipate the group will run for 7-8 weeks. We do have space for 4 more people. If you are struggling with the death of someone dear to you, we would love to have you join us as we journey down this challenging road together. Contact Evie Schulz for additional information.
Immanuel Book Club
Immanuel Book Club meets on the 4th Wednesday of every month in the Church Library. The Next Meeting will be on Wed, July 25th at 2:00 pm. The Book is: “Hillbilly Elegy” by JD Vance. Contact Edie Michelson at 262-686-3009 with any questions.

Lutherdale Fest Quilt Auction
On August 11th from 8AM to 4PM Join Lutherdale for their 32nd Annual Quilt Auction! Live Auction starts at 10AM with over 300 Quilts to bid on! There will be Silent Auction Items, Food Concessions, Door Prizes, Fresh Baked Goods and Pies, Crafts, Fabric Sale, Honey, & Pontoon Rides on the Lake! Also FREE Kids Area from 9AM - 4PM where they can play games, watch movies, make crafts and an optional Lunch is available for only $5! Quilt Preview & Fish Fry will be held on August 10th from 4PM to 7PM! Santos Gonzalez, Sr. ~ April 28, 1965 - June 14, 2018
Santos Gonzalez, Sr. Beloved husband of Nancy Acosta. Loving father of Santos Jr. and Priscilla Gonzalez. Proud grandfather of Alana and Anthony Perez, and soon to be born, Leelah Gonzalez. Special brother of Roberto, Lauro, Aurio, Crecencio, Gabriele, Nino, Martin, Jose, and Irma. Visitation was on Wednesday June, 20th from 3-9 pm with a funeral service at 7 pm at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home.  Interment was held on Thursday, June 21st at 11am at the Oak Hill Cemetery.
