SOWER Ministry Newsletter July 2018
It's hard to believe that we're already into the second half of 2018. How did that happen??? (We won't even mention how many days until Christmas!)  For all of its "vacation time" feel, this middle-of-the-summer month stays full in the SOWER world. Our summer projects are in full swing, and very appreciative of SOWER help. In Lindale, the SOWER office has been busy getting the August/September Sowergram ready to be printed. Here’s a preview of what to expect. The lottery results for our Jan-Feb-Mar “Sunbelt” projects will be listed in that issue (those results are already on-line) and from that point on all sign-ups for those months will once again be first come – first served. You will also find the 2019 Registration Form (also known as the Skill Sheet) tucked inside. Yes, it's ALREADY that time again! Although there is plenty of time to get it in (they need to be back to the office by October 1st) we highly recommend doing it sooner rather than later! Even if you do not anticipate being able to work any projects in 2019, it is still important to fill out and return the form if you want to continue to be part of the ministry. Feel free to change your status to Alumni if you won't be working - it's easy to return to Active status at any time by calling the office and filling in the "skill level" portion of the form. If you are already Alumni, you only need to fill in the top portion of the form, but you still need to return it. Choosing not to return your Registration form will remove you from the membership list and you will no longer be eligible to work projects in the future. We'd hate to say good-bye!
So stay cool, drink plenty of liquids, and hug a baby! Oh, and sign up for a project - the Lord has great things ahead!
Resting in His Grace, Thankful for His Mercy,

Thank you, Deb Long (3326), for sharing about the work done at New Hope Christian School (OR-256) in Oregon. The school asks for 2 SOWERS for the months of Apr, Jun, Jul, Aug, Oct, and Nov. There are still some openings this year, so let's see if we can't get that job list completed!
Have you stopped by lately? We're up over 570 members in our FB group, and there is always good sharing of project news and happenings. Make sure you've "checked" the Notification box to receive current posts, and PLEASE post pictures and stories from YOUR projects! Remember this is a "Public Page" and be sure you have permission before you post someone's picture.

While you're on Facebook, don't forget to check out your favorite ministries. Many of our partner ministry locations have a Facebook page and it's a great way to stay up to date on the places you love to serve!

We're at 685 "Likes" on the SOWER Facebook Page ! If you haven't already given it your thumbs-up,  head over there now! It's a great way to spread the word about our ministry.
Seems like on most jobs there is a shortage of outlets, and rarely is there one that is GFCI protected (that's an extra level of short circuit protection that is needed in wet environments).
There are some that are commercially available, but cost and availability doesn't help us now.
Problem solved with three GFCI protected outlets in a "home-made" arrangement.

New Project!
The Project committee is pleased to welcome Oil Belt Christian Service Camp (IL-540) in Flora, IL to our SOWER project family. This camp was started in 1946 with a few tents and a desire to impact young people for Jesus Christ. Today it offers 22 camping sessions during the summer, and is available for rental use during the rest of the year. Its mission has always been "Making Disciples of Jesus Christ through the teaching of God's Word".  It is located about two hours from St. Louis, MO, and is also about two hours from our other ministry, Lake Williamson Christian Center. Their sponsors are Larry & Mitzi Dion (3465) who live nearby and volunteer there now.

Watch for their listing in an upcoming PLS for all of the sign-up details!

So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him,    rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.
