MENTAL HEALTH RESOURCES

Teen Talk: Journey to Resilience

Teen Mental Health Awareness

As part of our ongoing efforts to increase awareness, normalize the discussion and provide resources, we have a podcast series "Beyond the Surface" Navigating Teen Mental Health Awareness!

The podcast includes a variety of special guests that speak about topics such as stress management, healthy relationships and more. In this episode 3, Teen Talk - Journey to Resilience, you will hear from a few of our teens.

Disclaimer: The podcast is intended for informational purposes only and is not a substitute for professional advice or treatment. The views and opinions expressed in the podcasts are those of the hosts and guests and do not reflect the official policy or position of Inspire Me Inc., or any organization. Listeners are encouraged to seek the advice of qualified mental health professionals regarding any mental health concerns.

Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) is designed to teach parents, family members, caregivers, teachers, school staff, neighbors, health and human services workers, and other caring citizens how to help an adolescent (age 12-18) who is experiencing a mental health or addictions challenge or is in crisis.

Inspire Me Inc., offers this training for "FREE" in the community thanks to grant funding. For more information, please contact us directly at (209) 910-4349 or email info@inspiremeinc.org.

*Fees apply for private group training.

teen Mental Health First Aid (tMHFA) is an evidence-based course that teaches teens in grades 9-12, or ages 14-18, how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges among their friends and peers.

Inspire Me Inc., is an approved tMHFA site in San Joaquin County, and our Founder and President, Alasha Jiles, is a certified instructor through the National Council for Mental Wellbeing. If you are a youth-serving organization, church, or school interested in partnering to get training for your teens (14-18), please reach out to us at (209) 910-4349 or email info@inspiremeinc.org.

Y.E.T. SUMMIT

June 8, 2024

Delta College

Our Youth Empowered Today 'Y.E.T.' Summit was a huge success! The teens enjoyed learning from the Mental Health and Financial Literacy workshops, and a Career Panel discussion. In addition, participated in our community partner stroll where they received valuable information about community resources.

They were met with fun activities for the day including Face Painting, Henna Tattoos, live DJ music, Jenga, Connect Four, and bracelet making. We had free bathing suits and undergarments from Justice (donated by Oasis Cares).

Special performance by the Port City Princesses, and an inspiring message from a phenomenal author, poet, and guest speaker, Angela Drew.

The summit is designed to build community by creating space that informs, supports, and encourages teens to be their best and enhance their overall health and well-being for the future.

We look forward to seeing you at our event next year!
