MPI New Jersey, I am so proud to serve as your President-Elect. I have been able to work amongst the best professionals in the business! As a board we have taken stock in what we as a chapter want to deliver for you as our members.
What you leave behind is your legacy and what you put forward is your future. One thing I am SUPER passionate about is giving back to the chapter. As valued members our goal is to provide you with professional development, personal growth and networking opportunities. Our chapter has done that and then some!
This year we are going to launch a Leadership, Masterful Minds Series that will focus on you. The programs will be complimentary to members and give you the opportunity to gain skills, knowledge and awareness that make you better personally along with professionally.

ANNUAL CMP/CMM RECOGNITION EVENT: NEW DATE ANNOUNCED
The focus for our Annual CMP/CMM Recognition Event is renewal. So much has changed since we last met in person and we have discovered how important it is to take care of ourselves, our colleagues, and our attendees.
As we rapidly move back to "normal" we want to continue to share the lessons we have learned by fostering a strong community of like-minded professionals.
Join us for an engaging industry panel presentation and opportunities to interact with your peers in round table discussions all focused on how the industry is continuing to renew in 2022.

The MPI New Jersey Chapter gathered virtually on Wednesday, June 29 to kick off the 2022-2023 term. We are pleased to start the new year and have adopted the theme, Accelerating into the Future of Meetings, to guide us throughout the term. The upcoming year will see many changes in our industry as we return full force to live meetings and we look forward to facing the changes together.

JULY JOINT CHAPTER EDUCATION PROGRAM
To start off the 2022-2023 term, MPI New Jersey was pleased to partner with our local MPI chapters on a virtual education program on Wednesday, July 13. The free to members program focused on Digital Marketing Campaigns: Diversity Strategies for Meeting Planners Plus Their Attendees and was co-sponsored by MPI Middle Pennsylvania, MPI Philadelphia and MPI Pittsburgh.
The speaker, Shea Murtaugh of the Hoffman Murtaugh Marketing Agency, provided great insights on the basics of putting together a successful media campaign. Recommendations included leveraging video and audio, budgeting, and KPIs. She was joined by a panel of industry experts to discuss Embracing Diversity in Your Programs. The panel included MPI NJ chapter member, Michele Aponte, President of Premier Innovations Audio Visual Partners.

What is your favorite thing about our industry?
My favorite thing about my job is that I get to work for my family – the people I love and respect most in the world. Industry related - I love that live event production is something different every day, its challenging and keeps me on my toes. My favorite events to work on are any programs where in addition to AV/tech support we are assisting with environment and scenic/stage design. I love when the technical and creative part of my job come together.
What is the best career advice you have received?
Two people working together pull 3x their weight.
