Summer Camp's Going Swimmingly!

In the blink of an eye, we're already approaching the halfway point of the Summer Camp season!

We are so fortunate to be able to witness first-hand the magic that social, action-packed, and week-long immersions in nature holds in store for young people.

In a time where screens and social media can often consume the attention of children at the expense of their physical and mental health, social skill development, and appreciation of the outdoors, it is more important than ever to show our young ones how valuable it is to spend quality time with each other and with the Earth we all share.

Here's to a spectacular second half of Summer Camp at Camp Kawartha!

For those looking to squeeze into remaining spaces:

At the Main Site, we've opened up more options for Sessions D2 and N!

Great news - we've made a few more spots available in Session D2, which runs August 4th to 9th, and Session N, running August 25th to 28th.

To register or inquire about sessions, please reach out to our registrar Serhii at serhii@campkawartha.ca.

Look Forward to Learning in Fall!

Try an Overnight or Extended Day Visit in September!

The start of the next school year is starting to book up at our Outdoor Education Centre, so make sure to grab a spot for your class while you can!

There are only two spots remaining for two-night overnight stays in September. However, if you're looking for a shorter class trip, extended Day Visits are for teachers looking for an educational school trip without the constraints of an early afternoon bus schedule.

Teachers can choose from our 60+ curriculum-linked programs, enjoy delicious meals, and end with an evening campfire or hike.

Click this link to visit our new website, check out the new online registration form, and learn more!

Meanwhile, Over At Our Environment Centre...

Summer Camp is in full swing at the Environment Centre!

We still have a couple of spots left in our Leadership program running August 11th to August 16th, as well as our Woodland Adventure program running August 19th to August 23rd.

Contact Serhii at (705) 652-3860 ext. 201 if your teenager is looking for a great opportunity to gain leadership skills before the school year begins.

Interested in attending next year? Don’t forget that registration for Summer Camp 2025 opens November 2024!

Meanwhile, registration for Nature School begins next month.

A Farewell From the Author!

Dear CK Community,

My name is Mira, and in addition to my other marketing and fundraising roles at the Camp, I have been publishing the monthly newsletter over the course of the past year.

As my internship at Camp Kawartha comes to an end, I wanted to express my gratitude for the wonderful experiences and memories from this past year. It has been an absolute pleasure getting to witness all the initiatives that make this place so special, and being able to share these stories with you all.

It has been invaluable to get to learn about everything that goes into the behind-the-scenes operations of a not-for-profit, from observing the organization and delivery of meaningful environmental education, to realizing how all the tireless energy and immense talent of CK's staff are at the heart of what makes these services so life-changing for the communities who benefit.

Thank you to all of CK's visitors for your curiosity, joy, and love of learning; to the staff for your hard work, dedication, and love of teaching, and to our readers for your engagement and support.

This has been an unforgettable journey at a truly remarkable place, and I am so grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of it.

Signing off...

Mira

~ You made it to the end! Thank you very much for reading - Until next time! ~
