July Edition

A Message from the Mayor

We kicked off the month with our annual Vaughan Celebrates Canada Day Event, which was phenomenal! The entertainment lineup was exceptional - thank you to Preston Pablo, Kiesza and the rest of the performers who put on a wonderful show. Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate with us this year.

Throughout the month we also had the opportunity to listen to many wonderful talents at our Concerts in the Park series. The next concert is a Tribute to the Eagles on Wednesday, July 23 at 7:30pm at Sonoma Heights Community Park (100 Sunset Ridge).

The wait is over! The City of Vaughan’s first-ever Vaughan Flavours starts today and will run until Monday, Aug. 4. Discover the city’s diverse culinary scene – from Italian to Vietnamese, and Indian to Japanese – with this new local dining experience.

IN THE NEWS

Exciting progress on the Canada Drive–America Avenue Bridge!

We’re on track to complete this vital project by the end of 2026. I had the chance to walk the bridge deck over the highway and see firsthand the incredible work underway. With the concrete pour happening by the end of July, we’re reaching another major milestone! Big projects like this take time. Thank you to Vaughan residents for your continued patience as we work to improve connections across the city.  This is just another example of how we’re fighting traffic gridlock and building a city that moves.

The City has broken ground on a new $26-million Family Recreation Area at North Maple Regional Park! Spanning over 15 acres, it will feature nature playgrounds, a winter skate trail, a pondside boardwalk and accessible pathways, flower gardens and more. Details: vaughan.ca/NMRP

The Carrville Community Centre, Library and District Park is open for your enjoyment! The new community centre features state-of-the-art amenities, including a gymnasium, dance studio, fitness area, swimming pool, splashpad and more!

The City selected the globally renowned consortium led by Theatre Projects Inc., with support from Turner & Townsend and Lord Cultural Resources, to advance the future Performing and Cultural Arts Centre.
