Chamber Welcomes Three New Members, Celebrates Scholarship Recipient

We are excited to welcome Lions Eye Promotions as a new member! Founder and Cary native Steven Lipscomb started his business when he moved to Greenville to attend ECU in 2016. What began as a way to help fund his education quickly evolved into a full-time, community-minded mission. For the past eight years, Steven has maintained a passion for supporting local business, and strengthening the local economy.

Lions Eye Promotions specializes in restaurant and service discount cards, offering year-round savings at over 25 of the area’s favorite restaurants and local businesses providing services such as hardware, cleaning, pet care, and more. His company also offers custom business cards and branding services.

More than just a business, Lions Eye Promotions offers a platform for local schools, sports teams, and student organizations to fundraise with its discount cards. These groups can sell the cards for commission with no upfront cost. Steven is passionate about empowering students, and the discount cards create a great opportunity for real-world experience with sales, marketing, and entrepreneurship.

When he’s not working, Steven is a self-proclaimed thrill-seeker. He enjoys adventurous activities such as skydiving, scuba diving, and deep-sea fishing. He also won ECU’s 2nd annual Pirate Challenge in 2018 for another business idea. With the support of his wife Brianna and a strong belief in giving back, Steven continues to build a business that echoes purpose, community, and opportunity.

We’re thrilled to welcome one of our BREW graduates, Zahna Williams, and her business, Gracious Hair & Wig Boutique, to the Winterville Chamber! Zahna officially opened her storefront this May, and she’s bringing something truly special to our community. A Greenville native, Zahna is a talented wig artist who specializes in serving women experiencing hair loss due to cancer, traction alopecia, autoimmune disorders, and other medical conditions. She creates custom, high-quality wigs that are as comfortable as they are beautiful - and even accepts insurance.

Zahna’s approach is all about natural care: she uses no chemicals, works with all hair types and textures, and ensures that every client walks out feeling confident and cared for. Whether it’s a full wig installation or a custom unit created to match someone's natural look, Zahna has the skills and knowledge to accomodate all needs.

With a degree in Child Development and Family Studies from NC A&T and a career as a child development interventionist therapist, Zahna’s work has always centered on helping people feel their best. Her background as a hairstylist is what led her down this path, and now through her boutique, she’s combining her passion for beauty and her heart for service in an impactful way.

We’re proud to celebrate Gracious Hair & Wig Boutique with a ribbon cutting coming up on July 28th!

We’re excited to welcome Thompson Design Co as a new member of the Winterville Chamber! Owned and operated by a passionate local creative, this small business is all about helping other small businesses show up with confidence. From eye-catching logos to bold event banners and decals for walls, windows, and vehicles—Thompson Design Co is here to help you stand out.

With a background in art and a lifelong love for design, owner Matthew Thompson brings both creativity and care to every project. Whether it’s a yard sign for a local event or branded vehicle graphics for a growing business, each piece is made with attention to detail and a genuine commitment to client satisfaction. Thompson Design Co offers custom work including banners, decals, yard signs, magnetics, and more—perfect for just about any promotional need.

Since relocating to Greenville, Matthew has found new inspiration in the area’s vibrant art scene and has been a familiar face at local vendor markets, showcasing original designs and building strong connections with fellow makers and entrepreneurs. Getting involved with the Chamber is a step toward growing the business into a full-time venture, and we’re thrilled to be part of that journey.

We love seeing local creatives bring their vision to life while helping others shine in the process—welcome to the Chamber, Thompson Design Co!

Each year, the Winterville Chamber has the honor of awarding the John Milton and Sue May Scholarship to a local high school senior who exemplifies a heart for service and a commitment to education. This award is made possible through the continued generosity of the May family, whose legacy lives on in the spirit of each recipient and the continued support of their son, John and his wife, Jeannie.

We are proud to recognize Jordan Barrett, a recent South Central High School graduate, as the 2025 scholarship recipient. From her academic achievements to her volunteer work with Koinonia Christian Center, the Ronald McDonald House, and her local dance studio, Jordan's dedication to serving others shines. Read more about Jordan’s journey and her inspiring plans for the future here.

Hunt Winterville Passport

We want your business on the scavenger hunt list! Here's how you can participate:

  • Donate to our prizes - gift cards, merch, anything that would make a good prize for our players!
  • Decide on a task - Each business gets 1 task per month. Tasks can be to attend your event, visit your storefront, make a purchase, and much more.
  • For those that don't have a brick and mortar in Winterville, you have other ways to participate! Have them visit your Market on the Square booth, snap a photo of your sponsorship sign at the ball field, partner with another business to have a QR Code hidden in their storefront, or anything else you want to get creative with!
  • Bottom line: If you want to find a way to participate, get in touch with me! Gameplay starts with the next Market on the Square event on July 17th.
