Summer Reading Fun for All!
Children's Program:
Now through July 31
Accept our reading challenge and earn a new prize each week all summer! Reading logs and bags are available for pick up in the library.
Juniors Program: Ages 10 - 17
Now through July 31
Earn pizzas, comic books, and more for reading and completing summer reading program activities.
Adults: Play Book Bingo!
Now through September 9
Pick up a bingo card from the library, read books that match the categories on the front of the bingo card, fill in bingo squares as you read over the summer, and turn it in to enter our FABULOUS prize drawings!

Women's World Cup of Writers
July 1 through 27 Weekly

Vote for your favorite writer in our World Cup inspired contest! We've pitted 16 authors from around the world in contests against each other.
Each week you can cast a vote in the library to help decide who will advance to the next round. There will be four rounds - one for each week in July. At the end of the month, one author will be left standing and one lucky participant will win a prize!
KZMU Audio Book Club
We will be on air with Back of Beyond Books at 5pm on Monday, July 1 for KZMU's monthly Audio Book Club!
We'll be interviewing Kimi Eisele author of the soon to be released novel The Lightest Object in the Universe .
We'll also discuss our latest bookish pursuits and upcoming local literary events.
Library Closures
The library will be closed on Thursday, July 4 for Independence Day.

Musical Story Time

July's Musical Story Hour will feature Moab's own Taiko Dan. Weather permitting, this musical demonstration, and story-telling experience will take place outside under the library's shade structure.

Live Webcast Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Apollo 11's Historic Moon Landing

Join us for a guided recreation of Apollo 11's journey to see how the mission was executed by crew members and mission control in Houston. The live webcast will be presented by Dr. Carter Emmart, the Director of Astrovisualization at the American Museum of Natural History.

History of the Great Floods of the Colorado and Green Rivers
with Dr. Vic Baker

Moab Library
Vic Baker, Regents Professor of Hydrology and Atmospheric Sciences from the University of Arizona will speak on the history of great floods in our area. A panel discussion will follow. Dr. Baker has authored or co-authored 400 research papers and chapters, and authored or edited 18 books on topics that include flood geomorphology and the history/ philosophy of earth and planetary sciences.

Walt Dabney, former National Park Ranger and Superintendent and Texas State Parks Director will discuss the origins of America's public lands, their significance, past and current issues, and much more. The presentation will include time for questions and discussion.
