Summer Session Weekly Classes

Our Summer Session classes are in full swing and are pleased to welcome dancers back into the studio with many precautions to minimize risk. Each studio is thoroughly sanitized before, between, and after every class, and the floor is taped into 6x6' or larger squares to ensure proper social distancing. Class sizes have also been limited and virtual options are available upon request. Space is still available in a few of our classes. Please email us here or call (573)825-0095 with questions and to sign up. We hope to see you soon!

Youth Ensemble Auditions

YE Full Group B.jpg

The School of MCB is holding auditions on August 9, 2020 for the 2020/2021 Youth Ensemble! Registration will start at 12:30pm and the audition will begin promptly at 1pm. Dancers must wear a leotard, tights, and ballet shoes (pointe shoes if applicable). Please also bring a headshot, first arabesque photo, and resumé. The audition will consist of a ballet class and Youth Ensemble repertoire. Dancers who will be in Ballet III-Ballet VI in Fall 2020 are eligible and encouraged to audition.

MCB’s Youth Ensemble aims to provide our intermediate and advanced students with performance and choreographic opportunities in a professional atmosphere to further prepare them for a future career in dance. In addition to the School of MCB Winter and Spring showcases, students in the Youth Ensemble have also performed at National Dance Week St. Louis, Carmina Burana, Grant Arts Night, MCB’s Choreographic Installation, and Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Joining the Youth Ensemble is a commitment to rehearsals and performances from August 2020- June 2021, so please consider that when auditioning.

Summer Camp Success

We've had a blast the past couple of weeks in both our Junior Intensive and Trolls Ballet Camp! Our Junior Intensive students honed their skills in ballet, modern, and jazz, and also learned an excerpt from the ballet Giselle. During Trolls Ballet Camp, our youngest dancers enjoyed daily dance class, crafts, and games. We culminated each program with a socially distanced performance and were excited to welcome families into the studio a few at a time to watch! In the coming weeks, we are looking forward to our Summer Intensive and seeing so many familiar faces. We hope you'll join us in the studio soon and wish everyone a wonderful summer!
