President's Message
Amy Natoli,  CPM®, RPA
President, IREM Maryland Chapter

For a lot of us, summer months tend to be a bit slower - people are on vacation (or are day-dreaming about a vacation!) -  and it's hard to think about planning for 2019.  However, your Executive Council at IREM Maryland is already at work thinking about next year.  We're reviewing our committees and our leadership, and we are looking for the next generation of leaders.  Are you ready to try something new?  If you haven't joined a committee, perhaps now is the time.  Are you on a committee and are ready to become a committee chair?  Perhaps you'd like to be President.  Our chapter has a defined Leadership Track that involves chairing the committees of Education and Membership before becoming an officer:  Secretary/Treasurer, Incoming President, and President.  To be on the Executive Council and to be an officer, you must hold your CPM ® designation.  So if you're close to obtaining your CPM ® , make this your goal:  earn your designation and set your sites on becoming President!  It is not a one-man job - we have a great team to support your development as a leader.  Worried about speaking in front of everyone?  Join Maryland Speaks, our Toastmasters Club, and practice your skills in a comfortable environment.  It will be one of the most personally and professionally rewarding things you can do for yourself.  Get in touch with me at anatoli@thebrickcompanies.com to find out how you can join the Leadership Track!
