MISSION

GOD'S WORK. OUR HANDS

CAPS FOR CANCER
All of you who knit, crochet or sew are urged to take up your needles or hooks) and begin making caps again for the cancer patients who lose their hair because of          chemotherapy. We will have a Blessing of the Caps later this year.  The caps will be gifts to the American Cancer Society in Bryan. There are cap patterns on the Heartline Desk  if you feel called to this ministry

HUNGER

Canned and non perishable food donations in June will be donated to Faith Mission. Please help by bringing your canned and non-perishable food items to the food table located in the narthex.

KIDS CAFE
Beginning June 19th and every weekday until Brenham ISD classes start again in August, volunteers are serving free lunches to any children 18 and younger who come to the Brenham Housing Authority's new Community Center on Blue Bell Road. The food is provided by the Brazos Valley Food Bank and Christ Lutheran is serving  the meals every Thursday. We've had over 30 folks from the congregation and the Day School sign up to help...now we need you to put your names on the schedule on the Heartline so we can know each Thursday will be staffed. If you have questions about the program call Jeanette Fair at 277-8035.   Thank you to all for helping with feeding hungry kids!

LUTHERAN WORLD RELIEF - SCHOOL SUPPLY KITS
School supplies go on sale in July so we will begin collection supplies for Lutheran World Relief this month. Lists of needed supplies will be on the Heartline and a basket for donated items will be in the Narthex. Supplies are put in backpacks for shipping to children living in poverty in this country and many parts of the world.

QUILTING BEE
An old fashion Quilting Bee will be held in the Fellowship Hall on Sunday, July 16th, beginning at 1:00 p.m. Men, women and children are invited to participate in this ministry of love to people all around the world. No sewing skill or actual quilting stiches are involved..beginners can learn everything they need to know in about five minutes...and the only thing you need to bring is a pair of scissors to cut threads to "tie" the quilts. We have fun and fellowship and there's always refreshments! Join us July 16th.

Painting Party
Yes! A Painting Party - the party proceeds will go to our Rise Against Hunger project on God's work. Our hands. Sunday.  The painting party will be held in the Fellowship Hall Thursday, August 10, 6:00 - 8:00 pm--cost will be $30. The painting project will be by Signs From Above, a Brenham company. Details of what type of personal project you'll be making will be on display later in July along with your opportunity to sign up for this special Painting Party.
