JULY NEWSLETTER

Brothers and Sisters at Christ,

In June, after months of thoughtful deliberation, the leaders of Christ Lutheran distributed a document conveying our newly crafted Vision statement, along with its explanation. Its purpose is to provide a road map for our community and its three expressions, the Congregation, Day School, and Foundation, as we work together to ensure a clear and creative future, grounded in faith and always moving us toward our mission to - 'Love God. Love People. Serve the World.'

Please take time to discern this important document. Read it. Read it again. Give appropriate time in prayer, asking that God reveal to you opportunities to, 'Enrich the Christ Lutheran experience, Grow the number of lives touched by this experience and Enhance the many resources, human and otherwise, known and unknown, which God has already provided in our midst.

Very soon, you shall receive a Vision Survey. It will come to you in the same manner by which you received this newsletter, either electronically or by physical mail. Please pray for objectivity and insight, taking time to consider its questions and complete it as best you're able. Then, either submit it electronically or return it by mail or in person to the church office.

Though not distributed to a scientific sampling, the survey will be distributed to every member and is not dependent on disclosing your identity. However, you may add your name if you wish. Finally, you are encouraged to be specific and constructive in your responses. Once all surveys are completed and returned, we will use this information, as we are able, to Enrich, Grow and Enhance our Christ Lutheran home.

See you along the way.

DAY SCHOOL NEWS
day schoo letterhead

The night of May 26th was a rough one for the Day School, the record rainfall overloaded our drainage systems causing some minor flooding in a couple of our classrooms. Donald and I were joined by Jeramie Zelenka, Stephen Johnson, Mike Grunder, Sharon Schwartz and Kandi Elliott to vacuum and sweep the water out of the building. Fans and dehumidifiers were put in place and Don Langley volunteered his services and knowledge to monitor moisture levels in the walls. Outside, soil from our neighbor's yards washed into our playground, causing a non-playable situation! Thanks to YoYo Scheel, Charlie Heller and a whole crew of church members and scouts coming to the rescue on Memorial Day morning, our kiddos had no interruption in their outdoor time! Since then, Mike Grunder, Don Holley and Jim McCune have gone to great lengths to present our Board with options to prevent any further drainage issues. More than $7,000 has already been donated by CLC members to make our plans a reality. We are incredibly blessed to have people who take such ownership of our facility and grounds! Thank you ALL!

In Christ,
Ginny Gaskamp
