Dan Walterman Invited To Discuss Healthcare.gov in Washington D.C.: On May 24th, Dan Walterman was invited to Washington D.C. by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMMS), along with a handful of other advisors, to discuss Healthcare.gov and the Affordable Care Act. Dan was able to bring forth some of the issues many of our clients have expressed concerning the Affordable Care Act operations. Although Dan has been invited to discuss these topics multiple times before, this is the first time the Biden Administration has invited any advisors to discuss their focus and agenda.

Medicare Issues State Timelines for Unwinding Medicaid Renewals: During the COVID-19 Emergency Declaration, many people were placed on Medicaid and never removed, even if they did not qualify for Medicaid. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services has now posted the time line for people to either requalify or be terminated form Medicaid. Here is the timeline. Here is more info. We are finding out that many people were not told by Medicaid, that any claims paid by Medicaid can be recouped from that person's estate at time of their passing. Oscar Health Announces New COVID-19 Coverage: As the Federal Public Health Emergency has ended May 11th, health insurance coverage for related claims has changed.

  • Oscar now covers up to two $0 at-home COVID-19 tests per month (per client)
  • Lab testing for COVID-19 is still covered under your health plan benefits. This includes COVID-19 PCR or Rapid Antigen tests.
