Popular Dairy Brand Under Investigation (Again)

Fairlife is a household name in the dairy industry and it promises better treatment for its cows, but is facing allegations that they are still sourcing milk from animal abusers and polluters, despite telling the public it cut ties with these companies years ago. This national story is starting to get major coverage from The Dallas Morning News and other media outlets. Please watch the two news stories below to learn more, and we will keep you updated.

VegMichigan Receives Generous Donation

Bobak Bakhtiari does high-level work for environmental and farm animal protection through his nonprofit, Consumer Protection Foundation, and he also supports the work of other organizations such as VegMichigan. Bobak has made a generous donation of $25,000 to VegMichigan, which will go a long way to helping expand our programming to new areas in Michigan. Bobak is leading the Fairlife milk accountability project which targets the historic environmental fraud and systemic animal abuse of the popular dairy brand owned by Coca-Cola (see story above). He is investing large sums of time and money to hold Fairlife accountable for years of abuse and cover-ups. We would like to extend a huge thank you to Bobak for his generosity and for all that he does to help farm animals.

Thanks for Making Spring VegFest a Success

Thanks to the many volunteers, vendors, sponsors, and attendees who helped make our 24th annual Spring VegFest a huge success last month! We enjoyed a day filled with positive energy, delicious food, and a sense of community. 76% of attendees who completed our survey, and who are not already vegan, said they will eat more plant-based after attending the event, and another 20% said they might eat more plant-based.  View the photo slideshow here. We hope to see you at Ypsi Vegan Fest presented by VegMichigan on September 14!
